Some bad news coming from our way. (Prayers appreciated)

Aloe is good for healing skin. Like..take the plant and cut the leaves in half widthwise.
Aloe vera is a plant flower.
He shoved in the ass so that there was no hemorrhoids.
----
maybe you put aloe on your face ... for you your ass is equal to your face

They are called "succulents". I wouldn't be shoving the flower anywhere; the pulp of the leaves is good stuff; also relieves sunburn.
aloe-flower-400x598.jpg

Not for rectal purposes.....use the pulp of the leaves.

Maybe remove those sharp bits as well.

ps: you have not made a good impression; shoving flowers up your ass is, well, somewhat comical.

I suggest you use a glove for application.

I am not convinced, however, though when the time comes and I may need a treatment I will recall the possibilities.

You must not insult others in a thread like this; it is too easy to take your language skills and turn them on you. It's what we call "common sense" really.

Me? I'm not American. I am familiar with soviet Era Medicine through family connections. It was not of a high standard outside a few Russian Hospitals for cadres who went to Germany for any complex treatments. The ordinary people, especially in the Satellite States, were poorly served. I recall my Aunty coming here and one of my brothers repaired her teeth; the fillings were made from iron. Very poor quality. The standard of Medicine even in Russia went down after 1990 and has recovered somewhat since then though is still not very high.

There is a saying here; you get what you pay for. That is the case with Medicine though there is also a very good "safety net" here as one would expect in a rich country(similar to the US).

Um: "twatting up" is not a nice expression. This is where onlookers are amused. (twat is another word for vagina: vulgar)

NatCit I hope is finding this amusing and therefor assisting with his recovery.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles NC. I had not been online much so first read here on this. Pure Chlorophyll inside and out will expedite healing and help with cell regeneration and restoration like nothing you've ever seen before and also get a lb of some acerola berry (pure C) and take the C daily five times a day and super B. Most of us are C short as we age, it and the B will help with cells as they are regenerating and renewing. I use that chlorophyll on all bad booboo's. It even healed a bad cut to the bone in three days and I didn't lose the sensitivities in my finger as I thought I would when I first cut it so bad,

correct advice.
- Chlorophyll is one of the components of anti-bactericidal gauze.

This is a Message Board and I only comment; I say NOTHING about my work or Qualifications outside a general "I went to University" thing. I am a regular in the Badlands with a long established group who have some knowledge of my qualifications but nothing precise.and am adept at abusing liberals...I thoroughly enjoy it frankly. But here in the Open threads I try to be a little bit nicer. I am a Constitutional Monarchist and would happily see a return of the Tsar to Russia( working WITH the Parliament of course as does say the Queen of England).

They cleaned me up nice and good this morning and applied the santyl and mepilex. Then those brown stretchy legging things. I'm feeling good.

I just took a percocet just because they scrubbed it pretty hard. Oh boy. Whew. Glad it's done and over til next week.

I appreciate all of the prayer and support from everyone, that stuff keeps a feller's spirits up, seriously. Because, you know, it's a downer beig stuck on the couch and limited to walking around the house, can't go outside, not allowed in any sun, basically stuck and in major pain. It's okay if the thread dies, though, no sense in useless quarrels. Everybody pretty much already knows about it anyway. Thanks, buttercup, for putting the word out when I was in the hospital all those days. You so shuhweet. And getting my diet and nutrition back in order, too, you did a lot of research on how to feed wounds like that. I can't remember ever eating so many oranges and grapes and strawberries and blueberries and different greens and whatnot. Ha.

Oh, one more thing, I'm gaining back my weight. I lost quit a bit. I was around 190 or so, maybe close to the 200 lb mark when I first went in. Somewhere around there, I hadn't weighed myself in a week when the fire happened. And I usually stay pretty fit. I had hardly any body fat, I was lean. And at six foot three inches tall, I started to look like a twig after a week. Sickly, even. It's crazy how fast a body will start to feed on itself if you're not eating. I couldn't eat for over a week at the hospital. I just picked at it. So, now I've been eating four or five square meals a day, steak, chicken, fish, all the good fruits and veggies, everything, and I picked up the thirty pound dumb bells the other day and tinkered with them for a while. I'm starting to get a pot belly from all the eating and not moving around much, and my arms and legs and shoulders and everything are still kind of twiggy, but it's a start, it feels good to start gaining weight back, even if it's like that.

So, things are looking realy good moving forward. Stuff like that is psychological. I can't even explain it, not really. But you feel kind of helpless and get the woe is me kind of thing going on, I dunno why, it just happens with those kinds of injuries. I'll say this, though, it felt really good to have people pulling for me. More than might be imagined. It picks you up and boosts your will to get better and healed up. I didn't feel alone with it. Ya know? So, thanks to everyone. Really. You're all a blessing.

The psyche part is real; sharing it is healthy. I had a bad leg injury from sport; was down for months. Just gotta stay positive but nothing wrong with crying sometimes. It's healthy...even in "real men" sorta thingy.
As we say around here: you're a "good-un".

Glad to hear you're gonna be OK. Fire is nasty.

Wow, I just saw this, Natural Citizen. Glad you received early care, and hope you have no issues by now. I saw people talking to you like something had happened to you on another thread and followed the link.

I have friends in the Fire Department here, mostly retired, and most of their stories are forgettable. I'm glad you came out alive, and hope the worst is behind you and a great future ahead for you.

No doubt that everyone feels that way here. So I know this is belated but to you and your loved ones, :huddle:

We are still here, Natural Citizen! So good to get your update. Glad you are regaining some weight back. Sounds like you’re beginning to get ants in your pants! That has to be another positive sign! Keep us updated. Hopefully soon, you can return to a somewhat normal life, enjoying the outdoors as long as you want, etc. And hopefully the worst pain goes by the wayside in short order.

Really. You're all a blessing.

well yer never alone on the 'devil box' NC, and we're all glad you've been sprung from the hospital , i'm sure you can tend to healing yourself well , you seem like a smart fella ......but i'm a tad curious , just how did you end up in such a fix? I'm just asking, no need to elaborate if you don't wish, but if you'd like to trade tales i could certainly write a few here that would make most laugh.....~S~

Well. This is gonna sound really stupid, but it's what happened. There's a guy I pay to do my yard cleanup a few homes down the street. Stuff i don't really feel like doing. I do it as a kind of favor to him because he doesn't have a job.

Anyway, i have several really tall ornamental grasses. They're around eight feet tall. Usually I prune them down to the mulch in the fall when they're still green but for some reason I didn't do that last fall. I let them turn brown and they basically get really hard and dry and brittle if you let them die off over the winter and fall. Think of mini bamboo shoots. Very dry kindling type of debris.

So, anyway I cut them down, it was one of the very first beautiful spring days, nice and sunny. But it was a little breezy, kind of like a kite flying day. All I wanted him to do was rake them into large piles and load them onto my truck to make a couple of trips to the recycle lot, they make mulch out of it I think.

He smokes.

Apparently he flipped his butt and it blew into the pile of dry debris, either that or he raked it into it, which happened to be right next to my garage on the back corner of the house.

I had just disposed of the old garden hoses a couple of days prior and was gonna go buy new rubber ones that day.

So, a fire starts, I guess his cig butt ended up in the dry brush and the wind got a fire going right next to the house.

So, no hoses, the fire is too close to my house to run to the fire extinguisher, if I'd ran to get the fire extnguisher the flames would have consumed the house, they were that close to it, so I had to jump in there and sweep the debris away from the house with my feet so the fire would't be as close, though my son did run out with it after i'd jumped into the fire and tried to stomp it out.

Problem is the flames went from about six inches high to about fifteen feet high in a matter of seconds, then it spread the whole length of the back wall of the house while I was standing in it trying to stomp it out. Bad news, lemme tell ya, I was stuck in the middle of it.

All downhill from there. I was lucky the house didn't burn down, it melted the siding on the back corner of the house all the way up to the second floor window and then melted the siding on the side of the garage wall.

That's all since been replaced, you can't even tell it ever happened. My other neighbor across the street is a roofing and siding contractor, he and my son fixed the damage while I was in the hospital.

That's what I remember anyway. The whole thing was like five minutes. Maybe less.

It's amazing how fast a fire can spread.

not at all NC .....fact is many don't just stand around yellin at the 911 dispatcher....

oh gawd yes.....even a 5 min FD response time seems like an eternity for those on the recieving end

double for those trying to contain the dragon via garden hose, rake, whatever.....

but i promised you a laugh......well imagine a larger situation much like you were in, brushland fire , most are mitigated via teams of FF's w/out full turnout ,especially in hotter summer climates.

So firebreaks are the deal, FF's are sent out w/indian pack and a rake....or maybe just a rake. The idea being to simply remove 10 feet of combustibles ,leaves, brush, etc thus the fire can't advance. This is a manpower & time detail , usually uneventful if not mundane.

So yours truly is dispatched to the side of a hill , fire advancing up, firebreak on the high side. All fine & well until the wind decided to kick up unexpectedly ,basically leaving the only exit outrunning it all uphill w/incomplete and ineffective break.

But....i decided otherwise..... Thinking i could run & leap through it going downhill .....bad mistake.....especially w/out a shirt.... the end result being the loss of much hair, bad sunburn 1st deg upper body....white lines where my nighthitch staps had been.....a reprimand from the 'unamused' chief.....and the nick 'jumpin' jack flash'

So, if anything else while you lick your wounds , don't feel down about your actions NC, you're in good company, the dragon has a mind of it's own ....

How are you doing, NC?

How are you doing, NC?

I'm okay, thanks for asking. I went yesterday morning to get the mepilex and santyl reapplied and they rebandanged me.

Thing is, though, she gave me a really good scrub. A deep scrub. It's hurting pretty good right now in the worst spot but she said it'll be okay in a couple of days.

I think they almost have all of the dead tissue scratched off over the last few weeks of going up there on Mondays. Now it's down to just the wounds themselves, no litter around or left over. I'm getting a pressure wrap on next Thursday, dunno what that is, and I forgot to ask her what it was.

Other than that, I've been walking the tread and skipping a little bit of rope here and there, no pain at all over the last week until she got the scrubber out. Ha.

Here's a couple of pics I took yesterday, they're kind of graphic, though, so. I looks worse than it actually is, like I said, I haven't been hurting up untl the yesterday when she scrubbed it.
