So, where do Republicans stand today?

I think she will hang around for a while

She is one of the few Republicans with a personality

She slid in on the last debate but really she doesn't have much to offer. Now that she has been granted this platform that will come through. It will die. I firmly believe that is going to show in the next debate.

I agree...she was a fresh face and showed energy

But she really didn't show substance. Much of her platform is not supported by mainstream Republicans. I think they will tire of her just like they will tire of Trump and Carson

Surprisingly much of her platform is exactly the same which is why I don't get the whole she is different schpeil. Little bits here and there are different but it's not too far off. She has two words down: political class. She then goes on the attack and that's it. The moment that she affirmed that she met Putin and was not going to talk to him, she was done. She recites what she thinks that people want to hear.

Carson appeals to a very small base--when you get down to it. I really believe that this man really believes in what he is saying. But, it won't cut it over the long haul. He has to be able to demonstrate that he can be in a position and keep church and state separate. If he can't do it then he will be destroyed.

I just don't get Carson

He gets so much reverence from the right because he is a brain surgeon

But his mumblings on religion, healthcare, foreign policy, the economy seem worthy of a fifth grader

Says the man that voted for OBama, twice.

Obama was quite knowledgeable about foreign policy, his plans for healthcare, economic recovery

If you would like me to compare Carsons utterings to Obama in 2008. I would be glad to do it

Want to talk about Carson saying Obamacare is the worst thing since slavery? How about when he compared same sex marriage to bestiality and pedophilia?

Carson is not in Obamas league...th

Carson says the predictable things as well. Balanced Budget Act, keep Gitmo open.........same stuff but it is more of a canned response. He shows no depth of knowledge on any of the issues. There are no insights. I think he is well liked because he doesn't speak condescendingly. But, I think that when given enough room to look under the hood that he won't make it either.

He is a supposed Constitutional Law Professor who was surprised that the Supreme Court might invalidate a popular law that was passed by congress.

That's embarrassing.

Indications are that Hillary might be both literally and figuratively on life support with failing health and possibly pending indictments. Where do democrats turn when all they have is a brain damaged V.P. and a socialist who isn't even a registered democrat?

Hillary could beat this bunch of GOP clowns in a coma
She probably beats the Donald, but nobody else. The plutocrats will win. )-:

Not really...that is why we have courts
A law is legal up until it is declared illegal

Those same courts have backed the legality of his actions....didn't see conservatives that happy about it

Walker is out, Perry is out
Jindal, Santorum, Huckabee, Graham. Paul are on life support

Trump looks unbeatable as he mocks the other candidates and soaks up all the attention
Fiorina is the flavor of the week as she looks feisty and articulate
Carson looks like he has a hard time staying awake for the debates and showed he is a bigot against Muslims
Bush has the name and political machine but is awkward in debates
Rubio looks well read and articulate, one of the only Republicans with passion
Christie is feisty and argumentative but has no real platform
Kasich is the mature, calm middle of the road solution
Cruz has staked out the far right....creepy as ever

I think Trump will have the backing to last through the primaries but when Republicans have to actually pick, I doubt they will say...I want this guy as President
Fiorina will lose her luster but can run as VP
Carson will drop after the early primaries
Christie and Kasich are too moderate
Cruz will lose votes to Trump and drop out early

That leaves Bush and Rubio. The smart, safe choice is Bush. He has the name, is not objectionable and has the backing and political machine

Rubio may make the best candidate against Hillary. He is young, dynamic and sincere. Everything Hillary is not. If he can stake out a Republican agenda for the future, he could win

VP could be Fiorina (women) or Kasich (Ohio, maturity)
I believe a Kasich/Rubio ticket would be unbeatable.

As for polls at this stage...meh.

All that matters is who actually shows up to vote in the primaries. I bet most of the people who like the Trump/Carson/Fiorina ménage à trois don't actually bother to vote.

I do my best not to kindle any hope in my soul for a Kasich/Rubio ultimate success, because they are such a long shot. But some days a couple sparks manage to fly through my heart.

I think I am going to vote in the primary this time around. For Kasich. Gotta do it. He's the best man for the job. It is really unfortunate that so few people know it right now.

Here is where Kasich is going about it all wrong:

Kasich doesn't like to beat his own drum, and when he does it comes across as awkward.

He needs to get a team to beat some drums for him. He needs powerful well-known people out there working hard for him in the light.

if FoxNews, its on-TV goofballs and GOP conservatives criticize the pope, isn't that, like, a war on Christianity????...just saying...

Again he seems to be learning it as he goes along. His "tithing" tax code is as funny as Herman Caines 9-9-9 or Palins Drill, baby drill

Simplistic bumper sticker policy

Polls do not matter at this time except for who is getting the money. Walker found out what happens to your contributions when you poll at 1%

Rubio is an awesome speaker. They guy has some real punches in his talking points. He's obviously worked very hard on his message.

He has pure oxygen in everything he says. Something I have not seen in a very, very long time.

VP, then President.

Still nothing to say on the topic I see.

That cartoon hurt you eh

Stick to the topic ...I am not the topic ...the GOP racism and hatred of the poor is the subject because that is where the GOP stands ...get it

Err, no. That cartoon was as stupid as you are.

Food stamps are booming, not shut down.

YOu are playing the Race Card in a desperate attempt to detract from how stupid your diversity movement has gotten.

No sunshine for Jeb Bush, Rubio in Florida | MSNBC

PPP’s new Florida poll finds that a plurality of voters in the state think that both Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio should drop out.
Only 40% of voters in the state think Bush should keep running, compared to 47% who think he should drop out. And the numbers are similar for Rubio with just 42% believing he should continue on with his campaign to 48% who believe he should end it.
The lack of enthusiasm for Bush and Rubio’s candidacies is reflected in the Republican primary numbers in the state. Donald Trump has a wide lead at 28% with Ben Carson second at 17%. Bush (13%) and Rubio (10%) can only achieve 3rd and 4th place standings in their home state.

Half of all litigants in a case turn out to be wrong

I agree Rubio should not run for President, but he should stay in the race to get the VP spot. Rubio is from Florida and so he would carry that vital battleground state for the GOP.

After 16 years as VP and President, Rubio would only be 61 years old! :D

Aside from the powerful demographic reasons of why he should be the VP candidate, Rubio also has some very strong old school conservative beliefs and plans. I like this guy. A lot.

If I vote in 2016, it is going to be for Kasich or Rubio. Or not at all.
