The hospital my wife worked at for 7 years had to do a bunch of stuff to be Obamacare-compliant, which resulted in her department shutting down. Many companies also cut back on their employees' hours to keep from having to pay for their coverage.

And Obama turned over a stable economy with falling unemployment and over six years of stock market gains to trump. We're never going to know what Obama would have done, or how well he would have done, under normal circumstances. Better or worse.

The fact is, he took over during the most complicated and wide-reaching financial catastrophe in our lifetimes, more complicated than 1929 because of the far more symbiotic nature of international markets and economies and the complexities of the financial instruments that caused the problem.
