Small, well-built Chinese EV called the Seagull poses a big threat to the US auto industry...while USA by 2034 will need 71,026,000,000,000 kWh!

Thats a false choice. Can have all of them.
No you actually can’t. You can’t have wind or solar without another source of energy to subsidize their existence. They are a waste of resources and money. They can’t even produce enough energy for their own replication. If you were to produce say 1000 windmills and set them on their way to not only support their own use of energy but make enough for others to use in a couple years you have customers with no power and a windmill graveyard.

The grid is fine (everywhere but Texas).

Indeed. There are 3 U.S. grid regions: the Eastern interconnection, the Western interconnection, and the Texas interconnection. The Texas system is more vulnerable to weather conditions, as seen during the cold spell the state experienced in 2021.

As far as EV go, just as our appliances have become more energy efficient over the years, it will be critical for electric cars to do the same. There is a lot to learn. Plans to evolve to EVs shouldn't be overly ambitious.
