Single Payer Healthcare = Raise Standard of Living & Liberty

no matter how much it costs, we need universal health insurance because too many people make bad choices for themselves and do not get insurance, costing all of us. If everyone had insurance, noone could make bad decisions about cverage. We need to save pe

If people want to make bad choices, that is their choice. You do not have any right to tell someone else how to live. Just like I have no right to tell someone else how to live. That is because we are Americans, we live a 'free' country - or at least we did. So fuck off and live however you choose to live and I will live how I choose. Otherwise we are not free. There is a price to pay for freedom. That price is that not everyone will want to live like you do. That's the trouble with fucking liberals, they think they have some right to tell the rest of us what to do. You are wrong. Live with it.

Also, we can't fucking afford it you jackass.

What do you mean, can't afford it? We could afford the jerkoff war with Iraq. That is about three trillion down the drain when all is said and done. But we cannot afford health care for our citizens?

You dingbat Conservatives have been on the wrong side of history on Social Security, Medicare, and the new GI Bill. You are on the wrong side of history on the issue of Health Care. And you will pay for it at the polls.

We can't afford it because both the fucking parties - the GOP and the DNC - have destroyed OUR republic. You might associate yourself with one lot of that bunch of theives and liars but I sure as hell don't. I didn't vote for them - they aren't my dogs in this hunt. YOU and your cohorts - the 'left' and the 'right' have destroyed this nation.

Yeah, right.

When has any full-blown monopoly on anything resulted in lower prices, more efficient service and the more freedom for anyone?

How many homeless old and disabled people would be on the streets without the single payer, government run insurance bureaucracy we commonly call Social Security?

(Running at an efficiency of just 1.2%, compared to private insurance at 22% - 25%, too I might add.)
Irrelevant: Begging the question.

Bullshit! The ONLY thing we have to gauge how a government run health insurance bureaucracy might run is Social Security. It is the most relevant comparison in the thread.

If I had a choice in health coverage that boasted a 1.2% efficiency, hell, if I could score coverage from a bureaucracy that boasted a 10% efficiency, my premiums would be half to two-thirds of what they are now.

When are we going to realize that allowing corporations to profit from insurance and banking is just plain stupid?

All you need to run either is a shit-load of money and a computer - neither can accurately be described as an 'industry'.

we cant afford to allow people to make bad decisions. if you have a catastrophic injury with no insurance, who do you think pays the bill? We would not have to worry about the irreseponsible if we just forced individuals to be responsible by government mandate. Now you fuck off, you miserable little tickterd.

always the last resort of someone who has lost a debate

we could have had HC done already if the needless iraq war wasn't started

Health care shouldn't be compared to the Iraq war. Just because we made one mistake doesn't mean we should make another.

and you think the government is going to cover that catastrophic injury do you?....they will cover EVERY part of it?....think again...

The joke is on anyone who actually believes that this healthcare bill is actually about healthcare.

Neither of those 'benefits' has happened anywhere in the world with single payer. Therefore, your conclusion is, basically, crap.

You should go to the United Kingdom, as they have a national healthcare without anyone being charged walking out of the hospital. In fact, the United Kingdom has a higher standard of living then the United States of America. In fact, Germany and Japan that lost World War II to the United States of America after being destroyed and invaded and occupied by the United States of America has a national healthcare and a higher standard of living then we do.

In fact, I would rather live in a country that lost World War II then being in a country that won World War II.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. But, somehow i think your going to hang around.
Please show us where you got your information with the standards of living, D.

Would you feel you have more liberty as an American Citizen if private business controlled the Interstate System?

Yes. It would be cheaper, safer, competition would give me more choices, and the roads I travel wouldn't constantly be used by politicians as "If you don't support X, the infrastructure will not be funded" standard nonsense.

Would you feel you have more liberty as an American Citizen if private business controlled the Federal Court System?

Yes, except it wouldn't be a Federal Court System.

Would you feel you have more liberty as an American Citizen if private business controlled the Federal Money?

Yes, except it wouldn't be federal money. It would be real private currency.

Hint hint, the United States Military like the Army and the Navy we could sell that off too as that is a national government run program. What would Wal-Mart do if they purchased nuclear weapons and was able to sell them?

Hint hint, the United States Military is the one of the most violent, oppressive, and anti-freedom institutions in the history of the world.

When are you going to give some good examples of how monopolies are good for everyone? Never. Sure monopolies are great for government employees and bankers with government ties. For everyone else? Not so much.

Yep, clearly anyone who has a differing opinion than the whining of the left, and happens to be female, is absolutely just emotional. At least, you have promptly shown what kind of fool you are - a sexist whiny leftie who thinks that it is perfectly acceptable to force 'assistance' on others. My initial assessment was, therefore, correct. You should fuck off and live in a socialist country. The UK may suit you very well - they have a government who tells its citizenry how to live, it is the most surveiled country in the world, but they have this 'free' universal healthcare..... fucking crap, you die waiting for treatment, can't get the drugs you need and if you dare pay for the drugs yourself, they take your 'free' healthcare (that you've paid for your whole working life) away from you.

Once thing is certain, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.... but carry on regardless.

answer the bolded part or i will start thinking that you are another pro UHC individual that cant or WILL not answer questions posed to them....

Government healthcare systems can work and can provide treatment at a cost that is more efficent than private systems in comparable treament delivery time frames.

Our system in Australia works quite well, so well that despite the government offering tax breaks to top up with private insurance most Australians do not because they are comfortable with the government system.

Medical care is private but the state acts as a universal insurer.

One other thing, as private insurance here does not have a virtual monopoly they have to provide service at much lower cost than in the US with far fewer rationing.

All health care insurance rations, either through waiting lists (usually in government) or treatment exclusions private.
