It can be stopped at any time.

However, stopping it, if that is your goal, will be easier before it gets going. However, if the GOP does that without putting a different plan in place, chances are they'll get bounced out on their backsides in the very next election.

Right now, the GOP's best strategy is to look like they're fighting this, take the political windfall from fighting it, and then doing nothing and claiming victory when people start actually getting health care. Then you can blame any downsides on the Democrats, while claiming any up sides for themselves.

To make it simple: Once this is passed into law, the GOP won't have the balls to roll it back. And the Conservatives won't have the balls to call them on it.

We will deem it unwound in 2012 when we win back Congress and the Presidency

It is rumored that there is some kind of clause in the Senate bill that prevents the House from overturning it later. I'm inclined to think that such a clause would be absolutely unconstitutional though.

More plausible are theories that they will pass a few things that will be popular that will kick in right away while the most onerous parts of the legislation won't happen for some time. That will make it more difficult for the GOP or conservatives to overturn in 2010 or 2012 because they would be seen as stopping what people like, and the people would have forgotten what was still coming.

It is highly unlikely that the GOP can achieve a large enough majority in 2010 to override a presidential veto.

My fear is how much damage can be done over the next two years that will be very difficult to correct later?

Wait, we can deem it unwound in 2010, we can even deem it signed by President Biden

    We're going to abort ObamaCare

Whether deemed or by fiat or even by legitimate legislation, let's hope we can keep the people focused long enough to abort it.

Unless whoever files the suit gets a judge that will place an injunction. (is that the right word)? I'm not an attorney by any means but couldn't the court have this bill paused until it is ruled upon?

It's an entitlement, pure and simple. Another that is unsustainable and once enacted impossible to kill. Welcome to today's Greece, tomorrow.
