This is the third thread on this, but this is from a different side.
We were told that the scanners wouldn't/couldn't be used to check areas that shouldn't be checked, and that the personnel manning them would behave in an adult manner.
During the installation testing of the scanners in Florida,one of the TSA scanners had some facts about his manhood revealed that caused him to be subjected to a great deal of humor from his co workers. So much so that he responded by attacking one of his tormentors with a metal rod.
To me, this is proof that what we were told about the scanners is false. The TSA people are not adult enough to use them properly, and that there is too much humiliation involved for the folks who are run through them.
The crotch bomber was on do not fly lists, on the basis of regular police work done correctly should have been stopped before he even got on the plane in Lagos. Scanners would not have done much more than add one more level of failure.
Do those who supported the scanners have second thoughts yet?
