Okay so it is my Papa's birthday very soon, he is going to be 55 years in age and I am thinking of buying him a Harley-Davidson motorbike. I didn't know there were so many models of them until I begin researching them to buy one.

The poll is a Yes or No, also if anyone wants to suggest WHICH Harley-Davidson I should buy for them then feel free to add your advice.

If you love him yes. Just be sure it's what he wants.

I do and he does, he has been talking about getting a motorcycle again since February, he used to have one pre-Mama and then still after they get married but when my older brother two years in age older than me arrive Mama told Papa he had to stop with the motorcycle. He loves his autos also and also he has a plane which he flies himself, we all have been in it with him.

If you love him you won't buy him a harley. Buy him a gold wing so it will last.

Remember Harley's don't leak oil, they mark their territory.

This below the Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger, a VERY nice bike, there are many Honda dealers within distance of me:

At THIS moment I am thinking of buying Papa the above Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger, it is a GORGEOUS thing, I like the colour of the above also but also want to see the all black version, I would probably get the all black version.

Here is the Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger again:

Okay below is the Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger but in Matt Ballistic Black Metallic and it has a red trim:

^^^^ So it's the above colour OR the below colour (It's GOT to be the black one hasn't it? The Matt Ballistic Black Metallic with the red trim? I can go and buy this tomorrow Saturday for Papa's birthday. The black one literally looks like a motorcycle that Batman would ride!)

The poll now closed BUT if we all want we can keep this thread ongoing for anyone to post about motorcycles, this can be the motorcycle thread IF peoples want that. I will see if I can change the thread title to The Motorcycle Thread or whatever, if not we will have to keep the original title of this thread.

Tomorrow Monday I'm buying the 2020 Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger in black with a red trim, this for Papa's birthday. I hope to be at the Honda dealer at approx 4PM to buy this beautiful motorcycle. The cost of this motorcycle is 32.000 Euros this in US Dollars is 36.143 So I ONLY put the prices because in some threads I have seen Americans ask how much X in European nations would be in US Dollars.

What's his preference? Harley, Indian or imported?

No.

A BMW K model or a Goldwing ride much more smoothly.

Okay Oddball Crixus 007 Dalia and others, what do you all think of the two motorcycles below?

On Monday I buy the Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger in Black Metallic with a red trim like below, they are now literally delivering this motorcycle to my Papa, it is on the way now and will be with him in approx one hour!

I can also ride a motorcycle, I have bought the Indian Scout 2020 model for me, it is the below 100th Anniversary Model and in the exact same colour as below. I hope to ride it in October after Kid F is born (second week of September) by this time I WILL have bought Papa a motorcycle and we can go riding together on Saturdays.

He had an Indian one time before, also one time a BMW, but now I have got him the Honda Goldwings.
This is my bike, 2006 Harley Davidson FXD35 35th Anniversary Dyna Super Glide, numbered, #0793 of only 3,500 made, very rare, and destined to be one of the rarest Harley's ever made... will be worth a small fortune someday. I've made a few changes on this one but nothing too major, and kept every single part ever taken off, right down to the stock screws...

Both really nice...I'd have a lower back support added to the GW, were it mine.

Bet Papa will be thrilled beyond repair.

I posted a thread in 2018 for when I bought a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Fuel Injected Coupe, 375hp, 327 cu. in. fuel injected V-8 engine, four speed manual transmission, clock and radio. The auto was then shipped to me and the auto drives GREAT.

This is the EXACT auto, it's GORGEOUS, the 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Fuel Injected Coupe:

Also in the above thread I did a post about a deal I did with this man in London, England a direct exchange, I wanted a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and he wanted a McLaren 12C Spider and I had a McLaren 12C Spider in my collection but I did not want it anymore but I wanted a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and he had one and so we arranged to exchange, I cannot remember how it all went down but it did and I have the 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso and he has the McLaren 12 C Spider.

The 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso look like this:

My import company they are in the Netherlands and so whatever auto I have bought gets shipped to them and then they deliver it to me, they are excellent. I bought a 1967 Shelby Cobra from a specialist in America this a few months ago, I am waiting for it to be shipped to me, things got fucked up with this because of the COVID-19 thing but I was emailed on Wednesday saying they are shipping it from America this Monday so that's a good situation.

My import company is this:

I can only offer a perspective as a dude who is a new rider. I wanted the 2019 Triumph Bonniville speed master. Beautiful bike, but it lacks the power I want and I'm to long to fit on it right. The biggest thing I can say is have him there. That said I like the Indian scout.

^^^^ The above is a copy and paste of my comment from the other day AFTER I bought the Indian Scout but BEFORE I decided on the Honda Goldwing for Papa. I make large above what I post this comment to correct.

So Papa now has his Honda Goldwing 1800 Bagger and he is VERY happy with it! Excellent :)

Me too, and I rode my Harley to their funerals and to visit the others in the hospital. They wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

I bought the last one right after I retired.

I've been fortunate. I've only laid one down on the street and that was decades ago. The q hard part was that I had left me pride and joy, a customized '55 Panhead at home in Key West and was riding my Ol' Man's bike. He had a pegleg but still rode, his bike was an electric start. He was not happy! Ah, life was good!

I also raced cross country Enduros for many years. Yes, I got to know my orthopedic surgeon on a first name basis! :D
Ride forever, no stopping, NEVER

No. Motorcycles are dangerous. No one should be pressured to ride a motorcycle on the public highways or accept one a gift. It's a personal choice, and it needs to be independent, free of a "gang" or "family" who wants to present things in a certain way that might not be appropriate to the individual.

Huh? My Papa has been talking about getting another motorcycle since January and so that's why I decided to get him one for his birthday.

So your "Papa" is 55, and you're barely old enough to ride a motorcycle yourself, let alone make such decisions for someone twice your age. Who registers the damn thing with the DMV and who carries the insurance policy on it? Are you listed as an excluded driver? Because there's too much of a haircut into risk, and into the glorification of risk.
