Here you have two more stories about gun violence in gun free Britain...

Scrambler bikers sought by detectives after latest shooting on Merseyside

Two men on a scrambler bike are being sought by detectives probing a shooting in Bootle .

Police believe the men, spotted near the scene and later on County Road, could "assist with ongoing investigations" after shots were fired at a home on Bedford Road .

The gunfire damaged a window on the front of the property in what was the third shooting in a week on Merseyside.

So...which British gun control law stopped all of these shooters from walking into a school......

Did St. Louis ban guns? Britain banned guns, and it is an island.....should be harder to get guns there, but the British police state they can't stop the increasing flow of illegal guns into the country....

And the truth is, the math shows that as more Americans own and carry guns, over the last 26 years, our gun murder rate went down 49%....anti-gun theories can't explain that. Our gun crime rate went down 75%....anti-gun theories can't explain that. Our violent crime rate went down 72%.....anti-gun theories can't explain that.....

And another major factor.....gun crime in St. Louis, controlled by democrats since 1949, is a crime where they keep letting repeat gun offenders out of jail.....why is that? Can you explain that?

Gun crime in St Louis city is "controlled" by the only folks left. Largely those without the money to move to a thriving mecca like Castle Point. https://www.zillow.com/castle-point-mo/

St Louis city has a lot of guns. Whole unorganized groups of young men have guns to defend themselves with. Why hasn't that solved the problem?

Post your stats. Its your strong point.

again...the democrats have controlled the city since 1949, and the democrats, for some unknown reason, keep letting violent gun offenders out of jail...

Rise in Murders Has St. Louis Debating Why

Jennifer M. Joyce, the city’s circuit attorney, or prosecutor, an elected position, complains that in St. Louis, the illegal possession of a gun is too often “a crime without a consequence,” making it difficult to stop confrontation from turning lethal.

At the same time, deeper social roots of violence such as addiction and unemployment continue unchecked. And city officials also cite what they call a “Ferguson effect,” an increase in crime last year as police officers were diverted to control protests after a white officer shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager in the nearby suburb on Aug. 9.

-----------

Now, an overstretched department is forced to pick one neighborhood at a time to flood with officers. Last month, Chief Dotson even asked the state highway patrol if it could lend a dozen men to help watch downtown streets; the agency declined.
----
When the police discover a gun in a car with several passengers, including some with felony records, but no one admits to owning the gun, criminal charges are often impossible, Mr. Rosenfeld said.

In addition, according to a 2014 study by Mr. Rosenfeld and his colleagues, a majority of those who are convicted of illegally possessing a gun but not caught using it in a crime receive probation rather than jail time. Gun laws and enforcement are stiffer in many other cities.

Do the actual math....

Over the last 26 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17.25 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2018...guess what happened...

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

And the truth is, the math shows that as more Americans own and carry guns, over the last 26 years, our gun murder rate went down 49%....anti-gun theories can't explain that.
It's only multiples of other developed countries'. According to your theory it should be a fraction. Funny that.

Not a bad post. I'll say that you're losing support by blaming Democrats. It makes me and probably others want to mention when all the Republicans (pragmatically?) fled each zip code with their legal guns between their legs. They're hiding in O'Fallon MO and Wentzville now planning their next flight and wondering why the neighborhoods previous generations of Republicans built by Calvary Cemetery, or in Ferguson, Moline Acres, Hazelwood and even now St Charles have gone to heck.

My grandparents, real Reagan supporters, got me going showing pictures of all these old houses they lived in and telling me never to go drive by them.

Not sure I'd lie drunk passed out on the curb with or w/o my shotgun at Airport and Florissant Roads and expect nothing bad to come of it but Ferguson isn't a bad place. Young white folks just don't move there and the demand for the property falls and fewer young black folks with jobs wanna live their either and the property values are going to fall more and so on and so on.

But but but if guns make you safe why is the US the gun murder capital of the western world ? Surely you should have the lowest murder rate ?

There are a couple stats showing PARTS of the U.S. are comparable to Canada. The failure of those stats is we are cherry picking. We're a big divided country though and the economic divisions are growing so the stats have SOME truth to them.
