I agree with the OP that those two locales are unpleasant places and that liberals would find living there to be uncongenial.

But to be fair to liberals, they say that if our country adopts certain liberal policies, then such places can be transformed into more pleasant areas by making life a better experience for the inhabitants, who -- the liberals say -- are currently being discriminated against in various ways.

P.S. I have just read a headline that says Starbucks is going to start operating in more "poor" areas. I believe that this is the kind of action that liberals have long asked for.
