Scott Walker shifts stance on immigration at private dinner - MarketWatch

"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker told a private dinner of New Hampshire Republicans this month that he backed the idea of allowing undocumented immigrants to stay in the country and to eventually become eligible for citizenship, a position at odds with his previous public statements on the matter.

Walker’s remarks, which were confirmed by three people present and haven’t been reported previously, vary from the call he has made in recent weeks for “no amnesty”—a phrase widely employed by people who believe immigrants who broke the law by entering the country without permission shouldn’t be awarded legal status or citizenship.

The changing positions by Walker, a likely candidate for the GOP presidential nomination, show the difficulty that some in the Republican Party face as they try to appeal both to the conservative GOP primary electorate—which largely opposes liberalizing immigration laws—and business leaders and general election voters who have been more supportive of granting legal status to undocumented immigrants.

Perhaps I can explain the Republican position on immigration: The status of illegal aliens in this country should be addresses only AFTER the border is secure (including the completion of an effective fence across our southern border). "Amnesty" refers to pretending to do this in reverse order.

How much is already fenced? And did you know the cartel has already outmaneuvered the current fence?

long time to go for him to prove himself at least as far as words go but even after an acceptable statement he can just change his stance again and again . Course , we do know what 'the boosh' Will do so at this early stage I don't care what unnamed sources have to say . I'm either going for Ted Cruz or the democratic destroyer whoever that is anyway . Give those moderate gutless repub rinos a place to spend their money if I can't get a Real Conservative like Ted Cruz !! -------- didn't look at link !!

I was watching extreme drug smuggling on American hero Channel.........They showed the fence and how the cartel had engineered a big rig auto hauler trailer into a bridging unit that spanned over the wall and lowered a ramp for autos to drive over....

He wants money and support from corps. He doesn't really stand for anything other than getting more power. A typical politician.
