Polls opened this morning in Massachusetts for a special election between State Senator Scott Brown and Martha Coakley, the state Attorney General. Both are fighting for the US Senate seat left vacant by Senator Edward Kennedy who died in August 2009. The latest polls on realclearpolitics.com have Brown up by a 7-9 point spread.

This race has all come down to the proposed, controverisal healthcare legislation. If Brown wins, he has vowed to be the 41st vote against healthcare. If Coakley wins she has vowed to be the 60th vote for healthcare.
