Saudi Arabia holds a Royal Flush over America.

How the hell do we avoid the inevitable disaster that may well result from any consequences we try to impose on them?

We stop exporting the oil we're pumping here at home. Problem solved, end of discussion.
Plus we have the Canadian Keystone pipeline now.... Instead of them crossing the USA to get to a port in Texas to export their oil overseas, they could sell that oil to us.

I'd say the saudis are the ones playing with fire.
Bush let em slide,I'm not so sure Trump will.
Wanna bet? He will do next to nothing or nothing at all. Maybe he will make up a cute lil nickname for them. Then tell them he loves them.

Based on the Pompeo attitude in SA, there's love in the air.

Did he give them an Obama bow?

More like oral manipulation from Rump.

Is that all you got sweetie?

Saudi could quite easily drive our economy straight into the shitter with their control over oil.

How the hell do we avoid the inevitable disaster that may well result from any consequences we try to impose on them?
And why does every Americans financial well being have to be tied to a solitary individual who is not even an American citizen and did not die on American soil?

Are you all willing to goto war over a single individual?
Parrot Trump much? jebus christo.... think for yourself for a change gramps!

money isn't everything.... the love of it, is the root of all evil, if one is to believe the Bible....

Are we better human beings than the royal family in Saudi Arabia... or you want to lower ourselves in to supporting MURDERERS just for money?

Trump is bringing all of his supporters down to the lake of fire with him.... BRAVO!
the love of it, is the root of all evil,
Jeff Bezos has 112 billion dollars, and isn't sharing it with you? Does that make him EVIL?

Our leaders sold our soul to the Saudi Devil a long time ago. All US Presidents in recent memory have bowed and kissed the Saudi Royal Ring. But so may have fought against energy independence. We'll pay a hefty price for that at some point.

US energy independence is a pipe dream that has all but been forgotten (In the oil patch, it never was even a dream).

We had a real chance to achieve energy independence. For instance, we have a whole lotta oil right here at home. We could have also developed other forms of energy. But everyone got caught up pushing their own selfish agendas. So now we'll have to pay for for relying on evil nations like Saudi Arabia. Folks should get prepared for tough times ahead. They are coming.

Carter's presidency is often described as either profoundly unlucky or failed, but on the subject of energy his impact had the stuff of greatness, which unfortunately arrived long after he left office. Since 1973 the US has met 75 % of our new energy needs through energy efficiency, a profound change in economic productivity that has saved us money, pollution, and avoided environmental and political risk. He also ushered in a period of oil conservation that basically knocked the knees out of OPEC's oil prices from the early 80's to the late 90's, though another force keeping the oil prices low was the evolution of the international oil market. If we put presidential faces on household objects the way we put them on coins, we'd have Jimmy on our gas caps. Still, every president avoids doing what he did because they don't want "to end up like Jimmy Carter."

Energy Independence is a political term, but not a reality. The US has 3 percent of the worlds' oil reserves, and we use 24 percent of world's production with just 4-5 percent of the population. We've been committed to an industrial policy and a foreign policy built around oil imports since the 1930's, though we didn't really get into the soup until Roosevelt struck the Big Deal with Saudi Arabia in the early 1940's.

They could more than double the price of oil. Are we willing to pay 7 to 9 bucks a gallon at the pump just to make a stand that ultimately would me nothing to Saudi leaders?
I almost wish they would.

That play would backfire on them big time I think. The gas industry would instantly boom here in the Marcellus shale region, shale oil would once more be profitable, and it would be an excellent motivation to open offshore drilling in a number of areas around the continental US.

If they did that, we'd be energy independent inside of 10 years would be My thinking.

Yeah, it was an issue Americans should have worked together on. Energy Independence shouldn't have become political. Let's be real, for the most part Americans are fat, greedy, and entitled. They can't deal with high gas prices.

In the end we'll just talk tough, but do nothing. The reality is, we rely so heavily on Saudi Arabia. It is an evil nation, but we want our cheap gas. It's just like our relationship with China. You have a falling-out with China, you'd have to close all Walmarts immediately. And what would fat greedy Americans do without their beloved Walmart? So, nothing's gonna change. Our Government will continue to support evil Saudi Arabia.

Body shape and laziness has nothing to do with not wanting to pay high gas prices. That is absurd.
Right now my fuel expenses fluctuate between 600 & 700 a month. So not wanting to pay a thousand or more makes me fat or greedy?

It was not feasible when Carter said it and it is not feasible now either.

Company Level Imports

Best we can hope for is North American energy independence.

Selling your soul. Saudi Arabia is an evil nation. It's just like with China. Americans love their cheap shitty Chinese-made goods. You don't get along with China, Walmart goes away instantly. And we have to be real, what would fat greedy Americans do without Walmart? The Globalists really have sold us out. They sold our souls to evil.
