Well why dont you go around and ask each state and local district why they spend what they do. The federal government accounts for 10% of overall spending in public schools.

Its not local control. Every public school is scared to death of not getting federal funds. This is getting so bad, schools feed kids breakfast and lunch. I suppose eventually the kids will just come home on weekends, if the parents are available.
