Sanders Warns Governors About Devastating Budget Cuts
Monday, April 27, 2015

WASHINGTON, April 27 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today warned all 50 governors about the devastating cuts their states will face if the Republican budget plan becomes law.

In a series of letters, Sanders explained what the cuts would mean for working families, the elderly, children, the sick and the poor if the budget blueprint for the next fiscal year is not revised. House and Senate action on a budget resolution is expected shortly.

“The Republican budget moves this country in exactly the wrong direction,” Sanders said. “At a time of massive wealth and income inequality, it gives huge tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, while making devastating cuts to education, Medicare, affordable housing and prescription drug coverage.”

Sanders added: “Instead of creating jobs, it will lead to the elimination of more than 2 million jobs. Instead of making college more affordable, it will increase the cost of college for millions of Americans. Instead of eliminating hunger in America, it will add to the financial problems of low-income families with children and will create more hunger. This budget is the Robin Hood principle in reverse. It takes from the poor to give to the rich.”

Sanders specifically warned that the Republican budget goal of repealing the Affordable Care Act, combined with huge cuts to Medicaid, will end health insurance coverage for 27 million Americans – including nursing home care.

The letters to governors, and the impact of the Republican budget on each individual state, can be found here.
If I had to choose someone to support, it's sanders.

I suppose you'd have supported Quinn, who put the state of Illinois in one horrendously fucked up mess. As did Blagojevich. :slap:

Maybe you'd also support Mike Madigan? :dunno:

Not relevant at all.

The American people are long overdue to get what they deserve, good and hard. Maybe that will wake them the fuck up, but I doubt it.

They got that with Obama.
Not even close. Obama tried to save them from themselves, and shouldn't have.

Yes, stirring up racial tensions was going to save us.
Whitey did that, by hating, not to mention killing, the ******.

Yeah because all that spending that has been done to run up 18 trillion in debt has been money so well spent.
This country is based on debt now, we will never get rid of it, quit bitching and stop trying to derail the thread, read sanders letters.
Sorry I don't deal in that level of stupid nor do I deal in the fantasy world of Sanders you feel free to stay there as long as you like.

I don't deal with the fantasy world of the GOP either.

America will not lead the world in shit if it slash, cuts and burns everything that makes it so.

We need new infrastructure
We need to increase funding for innovation and science.
We need to lead the world further into space
We need reforms for our educational system

The loserterian plan of going back to the 13th century is no plan at all.
