No, they are Not defending the Constitution by fighting in Iraq.
Also, an Enlisted man's oath is different than an Officer's oath.
Only the Officer's oath pledges to defend the Constitution.
Enlisted Oath
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
Officers Oath
I, (state your name), having been appointed a (rank) in the United States (branch of service), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foriegn and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God.
I don't know what Military your talking about the only difference between the two is that enlisted personel swear to obey orders of the President and those appointed over them whereas an officer swear to discharge the office, defending the constitution is both oaths.
