Information by a Syrian source:

2 years siege, Army Division 17 in Raqqa, still resisting the terrorists and had defeated the last terrorist attack in the last night Wed 26 -7-2014.
The ISIL terrorist attack started with artillery and mortar shells and suicide booby-trapped cars targeted the division's fence , the coming updates indicate that our heroes had foiled the suicide attacks and destroyed the 3 bomb-cars before the fence, "Abo Al-Khattab Al-Najdi ", a Saudi terrorist is one of the dead rats who were driving the attacking bomb-cars.
The battles continued during the night to late hours while the Syrian-Air Force MiGs targeted a terrorist convoy was heading to the battle and the sources inside the city informed that tens of injured and dead terrorists had reached the occupied national hospital in Raqqa, The Air-Force MiGs and 1 Helicopter also targeted the terrorists positions in: Occupied Traffic Police department, Eastern division Office and the industrial area, the Missiles Forces also entered the battle with 2 Scud missiles launched from Damascus to hit the ISIL positions in Raqqah, some significant unconfirmed report mentioned that one of the 2 missiles was intercepted with a Patriot missile fired from Turkey.
At least 300 terrorists were killed on the division's external fence, and our heroes had chased the defeated terrorists in the eastern side till the livestock market and gained one of their tanks.
The terrorists had published a photo claiming it's taken in the Chemistry Battalion - one of the Division sites -but in fact this battalion was vacated long time ago and it was nothing but an empty site.
[Video : The 2 Scud missiles lifting off from Damascus heading to ISIL positions in Raqqa , Video recorded by one of FSA rats in Khfeer Al-Fawqa in Damascus countryside, we will get you soon you little snitch].
More photos in the comments below.

The situation is under control in the Division area, the terrorists did not gain any new lands, and their loses are huge.
The report about that one of the Scuds had been intercepted in the air seems to be false till now and new information confirms that both missiles hit their targets.
No reports about any loses in our forces.
I'll try to reach more sources their and get you more information later .
God bless the Syrian Arab Army.

Division 17 under heavy siege of ISIS terrorists.
Anti-government sources told that 600 ISIS jihadists stormed Division 17 while pro-government sources report about thousands of ISIS fighters besieging the base. The current situation is unclear.

Hammam al Raqqa, an Islamic State activist who was reached via Skype, told McClatchy from Raqqa that after the Islamists “clean” Raqqa, Hasaka and Deir el Zour of regime forces, the jihadis would target Homs and Damascus to the east. Hammam said that the government resistance to Thursday’s attacks had been very strong but that it had been overcome by suicidal fighters who “came to die.”

The medias copy the death tolls reported by the pro-jihadist activists but pro-government sources report about far more terrorist casualties (see above).
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an anti-regime group, said the assault began with two suicide car bomb attacks. It added that Syrian army helicopters attacked ISIS positions around the base, known as Division 17. By the end of the day, a total of 14 airstrikes had targeted the vicinity of Raqqa, and a Syrian general had been killed in the clashes, the Observatory said.
The Local Coordination Committees, another activist group, reported 12 raids around Division 17 and the nearby provincial capital of Raqqa, which has been controlled by ISIS since last year. It said army helicopters were dropping barrel bombs around the base.
The Observatory said the fighting left 35 ISIS fighters dead and dozens of government forces dead or wounded, including six soldiers who were beheaded. The gruesome trophies, the Observatory continued, were later taken to the nearby city of Raqqa and displayed in a public square, where the militant group has carried out a number of summary executions and punishments for “un-Islamic” behavior.
The base has been under siege by rebels since much of Raqqa province fell to opposition fighters last year. ISIS, which captured much of Raqqa earlier this year, has tried to capture the base on several occasions.
Elsewhere, ISIS fighters stormed the headquarters of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s ruling Baath party in the northeastern city of Hassakeh in the predominantly Kurdish province that carries the same name, activists said. Black banners of ISIS were seen raised over the Baath party building, the Observatory said.

A poster who claims to have beheaded a Syrian soldier reported that pro-government sources reported about a SAA withdrawal from Division 17 base but such a post cannot be found. He proudly released pictures of beheaded soldiers, who have been beheaded during the fightings around the Division 17 base and uses photos of a beheaded Syrian soldier as avatar: (very graphic):

Note: Some medias simply copy the statements made by pro-FSA and pro-ISIS activists. This is why their reports and claimed death tolls can not be trusted.

This is less funny than you think.

The battles are ongoing:
Still unconfirmed reports, The Division did not fall for sure, but our forces redeployed into the 5000 m2 division area, we had lost brave soldiers and some sites , but the Division still resisting and they already determined to fight till the last breath.
What ISIL media doing is a kind of media war, most of their photos belongs to the same martyrs bodies or heads, also they claim that some photos are for sites inside the division while they are around it.
The situation is critical for sure, thousands of terrorists are besieging and attacking the location, while there are about 800 soldiers resisting with medium and light weapons 90% of them had injured before at least one time.
The air-force still in the sky till now trying to provide every available support especially with barrel bombs.
This is a huge war, and its Syria's fate to fight it almost alone.. There were a lot of loses throughout the past three years and we terminated hundreds of thousands of terrorists who came from all around the world using what we had in our hands of limiter resources, and yes the army and the nation are exhausted, but we had already decided our fate..
We Will Fight, Till The End.

Still ongoing fights...

Starting to evacuate our troops from the division site to another area around, the operation is ongoing under air-force covering into stages.
Till now, the terrorists did not control the base, it is a quite huge location and the battles are in some parts around it.
The terrorists said that they took over the commander room of the division, come on the building they showed is nothing but a random place around the area, also they said they gained 200 vehicles, that's also impossible, as I know there are few broken truck and there is no fuel to use it.
The location is literally useless, and it is better to bomb it instead of holding on it .
There is something had been prepared for Raqqa since weeks ago, I think we will see it soon, and it will be a BIG surprise.
God Protect The Syrian Arab Army

Reports confirms losing 40 brave soldiers died defending the homeland.
Hundreds of terrorists had been terminated , and the air-force still pounding more of them.
If everything goes according to the new plan, we will see a new name of elite forces formed specially to liberate Raqqa.

Background information:

A week ago, the Syrian army began a campaign targeting towns and villages controlled by IS, whether in Deir ez-Zor’s western countryside, such as the village of Ayash, which witnessed heavy clashes, or in Hasakah’s southern countryside, such as the Al Khair silos and the Karama village toward the city of al-Shadadi, considered a main IS stronghold, all in an apparent attempt by the army to isolate the areas controlled by IS and prevent the latter from achieving a fait accompli on the ground, following its control of Deir ez-Zor in Syria and Mosul in Iraq.
IS’ offensive thus came in the context of countering this military campaign, to end or disrupt it, particularly after it realized that the Syrian army was serious about relentlessly maintaining its pressure. According to a source close to IS, a large force took part in the attack on the regiment, with most of its members coming from al-Shadadi. The source denied media reports that the so-called Baghdadi Brigade came from Iraq to lead the charge.
Violent clashes ensued between the attackers and regiment forces, while four infiltrators attacked the Baath Party building in Hasakah, where they killed Hana Attallah, a member of the party’s regional branch committee, after gaining entry disguised as members of the Civil Defense.
There were a number of conflicting reports concerning the Melbiya Regiment front. While IS-affiliated sources claimed that attackers managed to breach the base and engage its garrison at close range, Regimental Commander General Mozid Salama and 20 soldiers were killed, and a number of soldiers were pinned down at the edges of the base. A field source knowledgeable about the defense of the base told As-Safir, “There is no truth to claims about terrorists breaching the regiment’s headquarters. Army troops succeeded in repelling the attack and thwarting the attainment of its objectives.”

Some of the Division-17 heroes had already reached their homes in many Syrian cities since yesterday evening.
