the war in Ukraine does seem to affect the Russian bottom-line.
but they can get full blown ammunitions and military gear backup from their allies (China, North-Korea, Iran).

don't provoke the Russian bear, is often said.
i add : let alone a population force that outnumbers you 3:1.

$26 billion is peanuts compared to bankrupt US .and Russia is so self sufficient and rich beyond dreams with vital natural resources that it can almost do what it chooses financially without fear of hurtful retaliation . Lastly, Russia is miles ahead in terms of military equipment which ordinary Americans cannot even bear to believe .

The consequences of this provoked proxy war could be very detrimental for Americans and their government. Prior to the coup of 2014 and the build up of Ukraine forces afterwards, the Russian army was small. Now it’s huge and battle hardened.

Add to this the many nations turning away from the US Empire for its heinous acts against Russia, leading to the dollar potentially losing its status as the world’s reserve currency. This alone could cause enormous economic harm to most Americans.

The American Empire like so many before it, is killing itself by it‘s imperialist warlike actions. Constant war abroad leads to destruction at home.

Am thinking of moving to Sochi to avoid Dear Uncle Ps revenge on the UK for its amazing support of the Kyiv Nazis -- all without asking its people for any observations. Beautiful city and filthy rich from the mafia . Perfect weather and Black sea swimming .

I’d wait if I were you. The neocons in DC may further escalate this war, as it becomes clear the Ukes are finished. We could see major escalation with Poland and Lithuania sending in troops.

Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) is about the size of Texas.

Even with that, Russia's invasion of Ukraine is evil. All other considerations are secondary.

When Russia wins a war Russia becomes more authoritarian. When Russia loses a war Russia becomes more democratic.
