For the record, I can't say I've seen anyone saying anything about 'outlawing criticism of public officials' either, but I wouldn't put it past some of our politicians to have said something like that. Some call him an isolationist. I don't think bringing all our troops home and keeping out of unnecessary wars is being an isolationist. Keep the worlds strongest military but keep them home. The amount of money that would go into local economy's instead of foreign economies would put a LOT of people to work.

Dr. Paul is an ideologue. In a perfect world many of his ideas seem perfect. The world is far from perfect.
We cannot withdraw our troops from the four corners of the world, even though such a policy makes superficial sense. Wouldn't it be great to spend the largess of government on building our nation rather then building more and more lethal weapons, supplying our forces in their mission to protect other nations and to protect corporate interests?
Wouldn't it be great if we didn't need a federal government, if members of Congress didn't need to accept money from people wanting to influence their votes?
Wouldn't it be great if our nation's people lived in peaceful coexistence and guns fired by Americans didn't kill Americans every single day? Wouldn't it be great if arming every man and woman ended gun violence and only those with evil or murderous intent suffered the indignity of bleeding out on a public street?
Wouldn't it be great if labor and capital worked together to help make our Union perfect; if avarice and bigotry and callousness were not part of the human condition and we all believed in the Golden Rule, and live by it?
