Ron Paul 2012?

Ron Paul has the right ideas, he's just the wrong package. I think Gary Johnson is much more electable. I'm hoping he decides to run.

Gary Johnson may be more electable, and I'd certainly have no problem voting for him if he ran and Dr. Paul didn't. However, name recognition goes to Dr. Paul, and Paul can get his views across better. Gary Johnson's speaking skills are terrible, though they have improved over the last year. Also, Dr. Paul is better on the issues than Johnson is.

I am a huge Paul fan and will vote for him if he runs and agree with you but I think he's a better writer than speaker, sometimes he stutters worse than Porky Pig:lol:

Yeah, Dr. Paul's speaking skills are nothing to write home about, but Gary Johnson is far worse. He's boring, and really has a hard time getting across his point at times.

I've only seen two Republicans mentioned so far that I'd vote for in 2012; him and Gary Johnson but I was a supporter in 08 so I'm not adding to the numbers in any way.

Hey buddy! Good to see you around here again.

Thank ya sir, that other place has gotten waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too boring lately, between that Judge overturning Prop. 8 and the Mosque issue, those social cons have gone rabid:lol:

Apparently there's a rumor that he may run again.

Obviously the political landscape is a lot different than it was in 07 and 08 in his last campaign.

I don't really care what the liberals think about it, I already know they'll want him to run because they think he'll split up the conservative vote.

I'm interested in how many conservatives here would vote for him, considering that at this point there's really no good conservative option.

I mean, please tell me you wouldn't vote for Sarah Palin over Ron Paul

It's amazing to me how after getting blown off by the establishment "conservative" talk radio crowd and their sheeple as well as Republican party........they all now spout Ron Paul talking points in their campaigns. Hmmmmm? :eusa_think:

Libertarianism is the new "pet rock" of the right.

Mike Huckabee leads the 2012 Republican presidential caucus field in Iowa
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee leads the 2012 Republican presidential caucus field in Iowa, according to a new poll co-sponsored by The Iowa Republican and Concordia Group.

Huckabee, the top finisher in the 2008 caucuses, received support from 22 percent of likely GOP voters in the survey conducted at the end of July. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received 18 percent, followed by 14 percent for former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin placed fourth with 11 percent, despite touting high favorable ratings in The Des Moines Register’s June Iowa Poll. Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who placed fifth in the 2008 caucuses, was in fifth with 5 percentage points.

Ron Paul is brilliant and is the only politician even worth listening to at this point. That being said,he has no chance. The Socialists and Neocons rule the day. He's a real outsider with no chance of winning support even in his own party. He's a wise & honorable man definitely worth listening to. He'll just keep doing what he does. He never gives up. I really do respect the man.

As Foghorn Leghorn might say....Huckabee is a bit too "ewww" for me.

Ron Paul should walk away from the Republicans & run on a TEA Party ticket. He will get far more than just 5% of Republican votes mainly from Independents & Liberals. It is so screwed up how the man who has called the economy & war far more correctly than any other politicians can get snubbed like this. If he runs as on Tea Party ticket in the 2012 election he will get a much larger percent of the popular vote than Ross Perot did in 1992.

I would not vote for either. Period.

If he runs independent or third party he gets no where. He wouldn't even be allowed in the debates.

Who do you like right now?

I don't plan on supporting Ron Paul. I've got my reasons. But if he runs again more power to him. I like when we have a distinct choices. And there are some of his policies I like and it be nice to see how the other candidates react to those policies.

The establishment loves wrapping themselves in libertarian-speak. It's as good as the old gays, guns and God speak.

I agree with you. He will not win a Republican party nomination anyway. Republicans are struggling an identity crisis right now. Do they move far rgiht and appease their solid core or do they remain more centrist and hope to pick up a larger share of the swing vote. I'm guessing they let the November elections provide some direction. Whichever type of candidate does best will determine who runs for president. They don't need to control either house after the midterms. In fact that would probably be dangerous. They only need to balance the power more evenly.

Either way, Ron Paul will not be a Republican candidate. He needs to go Tea Party.

Ron Paul has much of a realistic chance of winning the GOP nomination as I do.

I voted for him in '08 (first time I ever voted) and will do it again in '12. even if he doesn't run I will still write him in. hes the only real conservative in the federal government.

I would love to see him have an opportunity in the White House.
