Romney or Santorum...who do the Dems want to run against Obama. Gingrich is all but gone. But Santorum is picking up money and momentum. Who would the Dems rather see as the GOP nominee?

If they are smart they won't want either, both are the same. They are the same as Obama.

Well, maybe they aren't that smart.

Ron Paul Stands for American Values, ie the Constitution which our claim to liberty under God is based.

The establishment runners like listed and Obama all work for the powers our founder Fathers fought at our birth. They will promote the same agenda the power elite want for the NWO they seek.

Ron Paul is the only one who believes in the Constitution and the ideas of Liberty for our nation against the same evil ruling class we started this place fighting against in the first place.

Can you understand that idea? We are all being double teamed. Old trick, still works well, even today.

Hegelian dialectic, two forces aligned against one another. One is thesis, the other antithesis.

The conflict will produce a synthesis; in this case, the loss of national sovereignty and the end of freedom

Left vs Right...I think not!!!!

Under the right economic conditions, Romney could win

Santorum is unelectable

I really don't think Santorum is electable. He is an exteme that might appeal to the Far Right of the GOP, but not the general. Romney has the best chance to beat Obama. So I expect most Dems are rooting for Santorum.

I was rooting for Newt until I had a nightmare that he won...

Yep.... you guys keep rooting for Romney.

That is a sure sign Santorum scares the shit out of ya'll.

He will mop the floor with the Marxist in Chief.

Maybe 20 years ago, but not now. Santorum's views will not allow him to win the general. I think he is probably a good conservative, but his time has past.

He is, and thats why he will do good...... I hope

Do you seriously think that someone who claims a rape-induced pregnancy is a gift from God is going to have a chance to win the presidency?

Really?

I'm asking seriously. It's statements like that from him which have made me decide to start getting used to four more years of Obama.

Coz I think there's a really good chance Santorum could get the nomination, but I can't get my mind around someone who talks like that winning more than 45% of the vote in the general.

I'm not giving up on Santorum entirely, but I'm bracing myself for what I expect the result of his nomination most likely will be.

There is absolutely no doubt in the mind of this average Joe that Ricky would put the interests of his religion above the interests of America at large.

There was a time when an evangelical position could describe 'America at large', but not any more. I'm liking the continuing trend of religion being less and less relevant on this planet.

They've said Newt's campaign was gone on 3 different occasions--only to watch him go up in the polls 3 times. So I really wouldn't count him out yet.

But it's clear who the Democrats want as the GOP nominee--(Mitt Romney). They have planned this for months. Nancy Pelosi has all but endorsed Romney when she is sent out of her closet--(every time Newt's poll numbers go up--) to say she knows "secrets "about Newt Gingrich.

Guaranteed they know a lot more secrets about Bain Capital and Swiss and Cayman island bank accounts than you can shake a stick at. They plan on tattooing Romney's forehead with rich Wall Street top 1%er with Swiss and Cayman Island bank accounts. And the candidate the democrats really don't want to face is Newt Gingrich.

Santorum's positions on social issues is the same as Reagan's, Bush-41 and Bush-43. All guys who won pretty easily.

You think so? No, I think Santorum is WAY over the edge...

Rick Santorum thinks pregnancy through rape is God's gift? Seriously? | Kate Harding | Comment is free | guardian.co.uk

Not going to go by mischaracterizations of what he said as evidence.

If you want to have an honest discussion about what he said, that's a different issue.

If you accept the unborn are human life (which, by the way, you can make an atheistic argument to that effect), then is it right to murder a person for the crime committed by his father?

Now, personally, I think abortion should be legal because making it illegal would be a practical impossibility. But if that is your point of view,t hat a fetus is a human life, is killing it for ANY reason short of protecting the life of the mother anything but murder?

Doesn't scare the shit out of anybody. All the Dems want Santorum to win because Obama will walk into the White House....

It all comes down to will the right vote for Romney. And will they show up in droves, because the GOP is going to need every vote they can get. We know evangelicals will sit it out if Romney's the nominee. Santorum doesn't have a chance in hell. He's just the new Newt, Cain, Perry, Bachmann, Trump.

The right also needs us not to show up for Obama. So they will make an issue out of everything between now and election day. Like this contraception thing. Its just the GOP trying to control the message and steal votes with god, gays and guns. Same old tired playbook. They don't realize that just like social security, people like their right to choose.

But neither Romney or Santorum are electable. The next GOP President is going to have to be pro choice. He's going to have to tell the religious right that women have the right to choose. Reagan was pro choice. He wouldn't even win the GOP nomination.

Romney's stance on abortion makes him unacceptable to moderates and independants.

If we start counting the lies that have been told about this President, it is astounding. Let's see...

Obama is Muslim
Obama was not born in the US
Obama is changing the WH decorum to suit his Muslim views
Obama is part of a conspiracy to overthrow the US

The GOP has worked ovetime to come up with lies. Some of them even occurring on the floor of Congress. You gotta ask yourself, "Why such a pointed attack with lies?"

The Dems are praying harder for a Santorum nomination than they were for a Gingrich nod. Obama would win 50 states.

I'm not really sure it matters much.

I suppose Romney has an appeal to more centrist Republicans.

But I doubt there'd be much difference in policy if either of them got into office.

They're both tools.
