Roe v. Wade- A sensible discussion

Liberals made it clear long ago that rights can be regulated at the state level.

No. The Constitution made it clear long ago that rights can be regulated at state level. And, the national level as well.

And so heavily regulated that they become an expensive privilege.

That's a factor of how much WE are willing to allow. The People still control the government and it can do NOTHING without our consent, given or implied.

A sensible discussion would center on the right of a person to determine their own fate. Regardless of what their mom says.

But, how do you determine the wishes of an unborn, undeveloped fetus? Who speaks for them and by what right?

What the fuck makes you think that YOU, of all people, are qualified to participate in any "reasonable" discussion? Who the hell are you kidding?

This is why the OP should have put this thread in the clean debate zone.

You know, a clean debate zone on USMB is kind of like a tea room with doilies in a roadhouse bar....

I always thought it should have been left to the states to decide...like it was before the SC decision. I do believe the Founding Fathers would have agreed with me on this one.

Roe vs. Wade is the law of the land. It will continue to be. None of us will ever see that change. Give it up already.

It does make me wonder why old joeb doesn't want to look at the murdered babies. It's okay to murder em just don't make us look at em. chickenshits.

I got to see plenty of that kind of propanda when I went to Catholic School in the 1970's, thanks.

And for a very long time after that, I actually fell for the brainwashing.

Then I realized something. As much as you carp and moan about it, the law is the law, and even if it weren't, women are still going to find ways to have abortions.

Now that we've settled that, since you can't get Roe overturned, what are your PRACTICAL solutions on abortion.

Then you weren't sincere about having a sensible discussion, were you? :eusa_eh:

The Founding Fathers also thought slavery was just fine and bleeding someone was a valid course of medical treatment. Frankly, I think that no matter what side of the debate you are on, it shouldn't be decided on the basis of where you are geographically

No, I just find CDZ a bit restricting, because sometimes I might forget which thread I'm on and let a F-bomb fly. For people who like that kind of debate, that's fine.

I think you can have a sensible debate without a lot of restrictions. I really need to believe that.

But you're all for a big central government and I'm not. That's where the rubber meets the road. I still know our FF's would agree with me.

You do realize this is USMB......you get what you get.

that's kinda like saying well, HItler won the election, elections have consequences, murdering jews are the consequences, it's the law of the land so that makes it right. of course one could argue that those 15 million murdered jews would have been better off being aborted. and to set your record straight I don't carp and moan about it. the people who start abortion threads are the whining fucking leftist who want to drag the dead carcasses of the murdered babies out and parade them under the pro lifer's noses. And that the sole purpose of your goddamned so called sensible discussions.

game set match.

Well, go ahead, post a picture of an aborted fetus, get it out of your system, and then we can all happily move on to the sensible portion of the discussion.

Fair enough?

You were quite diligent in changing the language there, Beaner. Now I'll change it back.

The use of these 'sanitary' terms when discussing abortion is what gets most of you wannabe killers through it without tossing your lunch. Y'all are some serious chickenshits.

I'd have probably lost my lunch if I watched them put three stents into my brother last month after his heart attack. Especially after I found out how they put a stent in. I'm still glad that procedure was available for him and no religious fanatics told him he couldn't have it.

"Abortion should be legal, safe and RARE." is what you death dealers say, but there have been 50+ MILLION murdered babies since Roe v. Wade. So much for the 'rare' part.

I'll just be happy with safe and legal. How rare it is really kind of depends on you guys.

As I've pointed out, you have countries like the Philippines, where it is estimated that despite the illegality of abortion, 800K abortions are performed every year, more per capita than the US. Conversely, a country like France, which has the kind of "socialism" (which is actually doing the decent thing and taking care of everyone) you despise, they have half as many abortions as we do per capita.

If you want to have the argument, "How do we reduce the number of abortions", then the French model seems better than the Filipino model.

I just don't share your fetishism. They made so many mistakes in setting up this country that we are still dealing with. They were a bunch of rich guys who didn't want to pay their taxes and saved us from the horror of being Canadians...

Here's what you fail to understand pencildick. We DON"T want to have that arguement. Why do you keep dragging it up. It's the law of the land, go murder as many of your spawn as you choose. You won't hear a peep from me.
