I first heard this covered by Johnnie Winter.

"Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo" is a rock song written by Rick Derringer.[1] It was first recorded by Johnny Winter with Derringer in 1970. In 1973, Derringer recorded a solo version and it became his only Top 40 chart hit, peaking on the Billboard Hot 100 at #23. They both have recorded several live versions of the song and several other artists have recorded their interpretations.

I usually look at the yunguns as technicians, think Julliard Prodigies that go nowhere fast. Some young musicians have soul without experience too.

I favor the full package: technique, soul, experience...

then there are genius

It took me a very long time to appreciate SRV. I could not get past his often delusional and moronic fan base among new fans to the music I love. (head out of my ass finally)

Ms Billie Holiday.. Untouchable..

Sonny Boy Williamson.. Zeppelin remade this song. Jimmy Page rocked it out- one of the greatest guitarist.. John Bonham probably the best drummer up until his death. Doesn't get any better than Led Zeppelin. My dad plays lead guitar.. has a Gibson Les Paul Heritage.. I play guitar too.. not lead.. Anyhow.. Just rambling. lol

It takes a real talent to cover Tull and make it better than the original...

I had never even heard of Joe Bonamassa until I saw Black Country Communion on Paladia about 8 or 10 months ago.

The guy has some serious chops, and can sing the blues like a mo-fo too.

He's one with the guitar.. I admit I am sucker for a guitarist.. turns me on.. and this guy is brilliant..Reminds me a lot of Eddie Van Halen..

Oh hell yea! Johnny Lang is legend.. I'm a HUGE blues fan.. jazz. My favorite is Billie Holiday but I loveeeeeeeeeeee Johnny Lang.:)

I have "The Complete Billy Holiday" (Verve); everything Lady Day ever recorded 1945 to 1959 on 10 CD's. There are a lot of false starts and a few drunken ramblings and live recordings of poor quality, but the studio recordings are worth wading through the less than stellar "stuff"
