Between the years 1978 and 1993, the number of violent crimes committed against reproductive health care providers, reproductive health care facilities and abortion clinics were steadily on the rise. According to statistics gathered by the National Abortion Federation (NAF), an organization of abortion providers, since 1977 in the United States and Canada, there have been at least 9 murders, 17 attempted murders, 406 death threats, 179 incidents of assault or battery, and 5 kidnappings committed against abortion providers. In addition, since 1977 in the United States and Canada, property crimes committed against abortion providers have included 41 bombings, 175 arsons, 96 attempted bombings or arsons, 692 bomb threats, 1993 incidents of trespassing, 1400 incidents of vandalism, and 100 attacks with butyric acid ("stink bombs").[5] One anti-abortion group known as the Army of God, was especially active in committing these violent crimes. This group alone was responsible for bombing and setting fire to over one hundred clinics before 1994. They also invaded more than three hundred clinics and vandalized more than four hundred[6] In 1993, officials found the Army of God Manual, a tactical guide to arson, chemical attacks, invasions and bombing,[7] buried in the backyard of Shelly Shannon’s home. Shelly Shannon was soon found guilty of the attempted murder of Dr. George Tiller that same year.[8] In addition to committing acts of violence, many[quantify] anti-abortion activists were known to stalk medical personnel and use their photographs on "Wanted for Murder" posters[6] This on-going violence reached its peak in March 1993 when David Gunn, a reproductive health care provider, was shot and killed by Michael F. Griffin outside of the Pensacola Women's Medical Services clinic located in Pensacola, Florida[6] This increase in violence had become very burdensome to local law enforce. The Senate decided that such unlawful conduct was interfering with the constitutional right of women to receive reproductive health care services (abortion in particular), which has been guaranteed since the Supreme Court ruling of Roe v. Wade in 1973.

Ecoterrorism: Extremism in the Animal Rights and Environmentalist Movements
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: Animal Rights Extremists Target the University of California
During the past two decades, radical environmental and animal rights groups have claimed responsibility for hundreds of crimes and acts of terrorism, including arson, bombings, vandalism and harassment, causing more than $100 million in damage. While some activists have been captured, ecoterror cells - small and loosely affiliated - are extremely difficult to identify and most attacks remain unsolved. Although it has been overshadowed by Islamic terrorist threats since September 11, ecoterrorism remains one of the country's most active terrorist movements.

Introduction
In recent years, an increasing amount of terrorist activity in the United States has been carried out in the name of animal and environmental protection. Automobile dealerships, housing developments, forestry companies, corporate and university-based medical research laboratories, restaurants, fur farms and other industries are targeted across the country. Although no one has yet been injured in a domestic ecoterror attack, the increasingly violent nature of attacks suggests that someone will be hurt before long.

$50 Million Arson in San Diego, 2003
Since the 1970s, hundreds of groups in the United States have advocated for stricter legal protection for animals and the environment. Change has been incremental. Some activists on the fringes of these causes, frustrated by the pace of legislation, have become violent, creating an underground terrorist movement to combat companies and practices they consider abusive and immoral. During the past two decades, extreme animal rights and environmental activists, or ecoterrorists, have committed hundreds of arsons, bombings and acts of vandalism and harassment, causing more than $100 million in damage.

In recent years, fast-food restaurants have been firebombed and car dealerships and housing developments burned to the ground in the name of "ecology" and "animal rights." Increasingly, people that work for companies perceived as harming animals or destroying the environment are targeted as well.

How many "terrorist" abortion bombers are around today? Bill Ayers' gang of criminals terrorized Americans for years. Ayers targeted corporate headquarters and Police Departments and Military recruitment centers. The last bomb the Ayers terrorists made was intended for a Ft. Dix dance. When it went off prematurely and killed Ayers' girlfriend and his comrades the criminals went underground. For some reason that is still unclear, Ayers escaped prosecution when a friendly federal judge dismissed every indictment and murder charge blaming the FBI for illegal surveillance. Ayers went on to be a mover and shaker in the Chicago plantation politics and became Barry Hussein's political mentor. His wife Bernadine Dohrn was suspected of planning the Brinks robbery and murder of two Police Officers and two Brinks guards but escaped prosecution because the Feds thought she would spend the rest of her life behind bars for her terrorist convictions. Today she is a law school professor who continues to preach anarchy.

Thank you comrade Dean. I love to get the chance to illustrate the criminal history of the 60's and 70's left wing anarchist movement. Maybe the fix was in when the Feds failed to indict Barnadine Dohrn for her alleged role in the planning of the Brinks robbery in Nyack NY. The "official" reason is that the Feds thought Dohrn would never see the light of day but it seems kind of slim. Why Ayers escaped prosecution is anybody's guess. Is it logical that a federal judge would dismiss every indictment because the FBI might have engaged in "illegal" wiretaps that produced nothing? Something stinks about the Ayers pardon. On the other hand every Abortion clinic bomber has been punished.
