Egypt on Thursday decried Washington's decision to freeze a sizable chunk of its annual $1.5 billion aid to Egypt, saying the move was wrong and ill timed.

Obama is using the threat of reduced aid to Egypt in return for concessions from that government. Is this not the same type of extortion he is accusing Congress of? Why not give Egypt a clean CR and then negotiate from a position of weakness???
