Gov. Rick Perry said Friday he's disgusted a California newspaper ran a cartoon that depicts him boasting about booming business in Texas, then shows an explosion, a week after a fertilizer plant explosion killed 14 people in a Texas town.

Ohman defended his cartoon with an Internet post, noting that the fertilizer plant "had not been inspected by the state of Texas since 2006" and that many "Texas cities have little or no zoning, resulting in homes being permitted next to sparely inspected businesses that store explosive chemicals."

It is strange that in Bangladesh they actually arrest negligent business owners. Perhaps they have a better grasp on the rule of law than in Texas

Perhaps the rule of law here is believing people are innocent until proved guilty, Agit8r. Also, those issues of negligence take time to prove in the matter of an explosion that may have been a hundred times more powerful than that of the Oklahoma City bombing due to the amount of chemicals. They may never know the source of the explosion's cause unless an aggravated former employee goes into a bar, gets high, and starts bragging, or something is remembered by a person who was there that day at the plant and knows how it started.

In any event, on-the-scene investigators will likely have to get very lucky since chances are very good the causal agent was masked due to vaporization in a blast of that magnitude. Their findings will be most helpful to legislators eager to instate safety regulations that will ensure our state will never have such a frightening scene occur due to mass explosives in such proximity to people's residential areas.

We can't just snap our fingers and know everything without all the facts being known, when and if we can know them.

He served in the military, he gets military benefits. That's nothing to impeach somebody over poet, especially not a Governor who has prospered the state of Texas by stimulating job creation and increased revenues through simply having more people paying taxes because there are more jobs.
