Leaders of the largest police union in the United States have warned President Donald Trump that he could endanger public safety if he follows through with cuts in federal grants to immigrant "sanctuary cities," the union's director told Reuters after a White House meeting.

I think those cities that disregard federal law should not receive federal funding; if there is a consequence for that it is on them for failing to abide by the law. And in fact maybe they should see the inside of a jail cell if someone is raped or killed by an illegal after being released from local custody.

Through their adopting "Sanctuary" status these cities have demonstrated they have no interest in public safety and prefer lawlessness to order.

Why give them even a penny? Obvious they'd spend it on something frivolous rather than law enforcement.

I actually have a problem with all of this, as I don't like the Feds using money as a enforcer, like what they did with the mandatory 21 year drinking age. To me the best thing to do would just amp up federal ICE agent counts, and get them federal warrants for the illegals in question.

Bypass the locals, and the issue becomes moot.

This isn't a Trump mandate, this is a We, the People mandate. Because we are smart enough to understand that your "sanctuary cities" are nothing more than gateways to whatever city the illegals want to invade.
Ask your mayor what the protocol is for keeping your illegals in your city so that your city isn't held liable for the rape and murder of a six year old in the city next door by one of your protected..
