This board has a problem, I mean really you people truly think the kkk is a left wing group, that is ignorant. When you confuse fascism for socialism, that's a problem as well. About healthcare, you do know we already ration healthcare, by finical means. Like I said by you logic north Korea is a democracy, right? You people are dumb.
The KKK came into being after the civil war in the south which was largely Democrat during that time the clan propaganda and recruiting film Birth of a Nation was screened By Woodrow Wilson at the White House and Wilson was said to have praised the film after seeing it though there are questions about that. The clan continued it's rise in power and influence still in the Democratic South from the 20s through the 60s it's power and influence began to wane in the 70s and continued in the 80s and beyond during which time the South started to be come more Republican than Democrat people can make their own judgement about if there is a connection between the two. Today the KKK is a marginal fringe group that is not associated in a major way with either party but it's beginnings and it's history have closer tie's to the Democrats than the Republicans.
Once again, the term "liberal" and "conservative" hinges soley upon which one in which party did what. I find this amusing.
Woodrow Wilson was a statist. As such he despised limited government and would be the type to throw Japanese Americans in jail like FDR did, just because of the color of their skin.
However, turn back the clock to Jefferson, the first Democrat, and what we see is the polar opposite. He stood up to the powers that be and returned power to the people by opposing laws such as the Sedition Acts. In addition, although Jefferson owned slaves, he originally wanted to add to the Declaration of Independence the fact that the slaves needed to be freed, but this was shot down by the group think tank.
