Republicans double standard on Socialism

Republicans are a strange group when it comes to Socialism. They turn a blind eye to the hundreds of billions of our tax dollars freely given away to the Fortune 500 in the form of corporate subsidies, grants, rollover - no bid contracts and other corporate welfare goodies, most of which is spent on stock buy backs, inflated pay for their exec's and lavish offshore corporate retreats. but....let a recently laid off waitress apply for food stamps to feed herself and her children while she applies for another job, and Republicans point their fingers and scream that SHE is the reason America is in decline, that lazy Socialist bitch!! :mad-61:

Are you folks aware that twice as much tax money is spent on corporate welfare as on social welfare? I read the quarterly financial reports for Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobile, Wal-Mart, Bank of America and other collectors of corporate welfare. They don't need any more of our tax dollars, in fact most of them are swimming in cash.

So - Why the Republican double standard on Socialism??

Ds are no different.
Ds are for increasing the minimum wage and healthcare reform.
Means nothing. They’re frauds. Everyone is for HC reform. Why are the Ds unwilling to pass M4A? Because they are frauds owned by big corporations, just like the Rs.
Republicans had nothing but repeal for the healthcare reform implemented by the previous democrat administration and had four years to come up with something, but had nothing and merely lied about it, and they are against raising the minimum wage now.
You’re no different than a Trumper. Wingers can’t see the truth. They cling to party over reality.

Because the medical industrial complex won't let it pass. That includes big insurance, big medicine, and big Pharma. All have a lot to lose in a system which caps their reimbursements. Big medicine will stand on their free market rights to charge whatever the traffic will bear, and if the government won't pay their price, they'll bill you for the shortfall. Singler payer bans or severely limits extra billing. There are no co-pays for doctor visits or hospitalizations.

This means that the first year doctor in a public hospital gets the same pay for doing the same procedure as the top specialist in the field. The best doctors can't charge any more or less for a procedure than the next guy. You think the doctors at Johns Hopkins are going to go for that?

This argument is so old and outdated it's ridiculous.
Clearly corporations aren't peopled with just conservatives.
That excuse went out the window when Twitter decided to cut off Trump's account.
Not only is most of the money in this country in the possession of the Left...but many Republicans aren't true conservatives.

But I think you have a problem understanding what real socialism is.
It's not free money paid by the taxpayer.
It's primarily government controlling all forms of food production and the total absence of private property ownership.
For your edification there are different forms of socialism and I provided a link where you can understand the differences which evidently you don't. Socialism - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I understand it. Better than you do. Did you even read your own reference?
You know......the part about "Communism being the goal"?
I've read it many times and not all forms of socialism has communism as it's goal if that were true then your original definition would be but it isn't. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Since you are an idiot, here let me elaborate how Communism always ends up.
So you have a socialist utopia where everyone wants to be the same, what about the politicians who will always have more.
Those who participate in a socialist utopia , you know the farmers who work 16 hour days to provide food, then there is you, who wants the food but not work for it. Soon the farmer only produces enough food for himself and his family. Then the socialist government steps in and FORCES the farmer to produce more. Now you have Communism. Socialism always ends in either Fascism(far right) or Communism(far left). But always ends in disaster.
I have to disagree some socialist concepts work very well, in the Nordic Model of their form of Democracy with capitalism. In my opinion it works a lot better then our so called Democratic Republic. Whether it could work here is doubtful. The Nordic Model: Pros and Cons The very long term solution which will probably take centuries is miscegenation. I could supply you with a list of countries that in their constitution mention socialism but why bother.
It really works well, when you dont have to contribute to your security like NATO, because the big guy covers for ya. When you can do that, you can give out more free stuff. Sorry , but Socialism is always failure, and we are soon heading towards failure with all the debt this country is accruing.

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time (usdebtclock.org)

Look at the total US debt.....82 trillion. We arent going to last much longer.

Look at the total US debt.....82 trillion.

Wow!

That's some really bad math.

No. Because the DParty and dipshits like Ears and senile Joe are owned by big pharmaceutical, insurance, and hospital. It’s really that simple.

Rural America is kept alive by a whole host of government programs, from farm subsidies to subsidized government loans
Not sure if you are being snarky, arrogant, or short sighted, or if it is just your personnel interests that make you see the world the way you do, but we are all Americans, and all in the same boat.

Socialism for investors, capitalism for everyone else
With the Federal Reserve backstopping risky corporate debt, the U.S. economy has made itself thoroughly addicted to cheap credit and government rescues

". . . Chair Jerome H. Powell and his Fed colleagues have been bold and creative in rescuing the financial system and the economy from the ravages of the coronavirus. What they have yet to demonstrate is that they can summon the same boldness and creativity to rein in a runaway shadow banking system and wean the economy off its addiction to cheap and easy credit. The bet on Wall Street is that they never will."

I don't understand that claim. It's true that the Federal Reserve is acting badly. But that is hardly socialism.

I personally am an investor. How is my stock in Netflix, being socialized? If Netflix declares bankruptcy, is the government going to pay more for my shares in Netflix that would be worth zero?

Explain to me in detail how my ownership of stock in Netflix is socialized. At what point to do I get money from the public?
Really? After what the government and Fed have been doing since 2008, you don’t see corporate welfare? You must be blind.

So as I said... I am an investor. I own stock. Please explain how my ownership of Netflix is being socialized?

Explain it to me. Tell me how, me being an investor is socialized. You can take your evasive attempts a mocking, which do not make a point or answer my question, and stuff up your own butt. Answer the question.... how is my ownership as an investor in Netflix stock, socialized?

Yeah, and I heard the same thing in the 1990s when they were pushing welfare reform, that "These people are only kept alive by government welfare and food stamps!" they promised me that if we cut welfare and food stamps, people would die in the streets.

Instead, people just got jobs and found a way to make a living, instead of being a public tick sucking the blood from working people.

I wager that if you cut all those subsidies, that people would be just fine. They find other ways to make money.
You’re okay with cutting off welfare for the poor. Are you equally okay with cutting off welfare for the rich?

I don't believe in government hand outs to anyone anywhere, ever. I've had the same standard I've had for 20 years plus.

You tell me, are you in favor of ending welfare for the rich? Are you in favor of ending all subsidizes for green energy? Are you ready to cancel AmTrak? Are you ready to end R&D grants for scientific research that ALL go to the rich?

Are you okay with cutting off welfare for the rich? Yes or no.

They just blurt out the word as hyperbole because it’s simple and they have zero concept of nuance. Government involvement exists on a continuum, and that’s just too complicated a concept.

So, they blurt it, along with commie, Nazi and Marxist. It’s kind a Trumpster Tourette’s.
oddly enough democrats are always seeking to increase the size of government and raising taxes for the big brother they adore

There is nothing wrong with stock buy backs. They benefit the public, 401K, IRA, Pensions, and life insurance and other investments.

There is nothing wrong with no-bid contracts. You need to go learn why they exist.

There is nothing wrong with rollovers... so I'm not even sure why you would even think there was.

So with all the 'socialism' you are talking about.

A tax break, is not socialism. The vast vast majority of what you claim as socialism, is really government NOT stealing the work of other people. That is the opposite of socialism.

However, there are some grants and subsidies that are given out. And all of them are left-wing programs. Not generally Republican.
Poor little billy he can not comprehend the obvious if you have value your worth something if your an out of work burger flipper collecting welfare your not worth anything of value.

Where are you on the continuum? How much freedom should citizens be 'allowed' to have? It is ironic that those who wish to have a life that is not dictated in every minutia by the federal government are being called a cult, or as you prefer, Trumpsters. I will continue to believe that people are not helpless and that they should be given the opportunity to succeed on their own merits. Cradle to grave 'safety' nets are not fiscally possible, nor are they desirable to free people. You speak of nuance, but have you ever heard a democrat say the government has gone too far, or has too much power and control?
