Why wasn't Trump allowed to confront the whistleblower during the investigation conducted by the House? Because the House does the investigation, and the trial (where Trump could confront his accuser) is done by the Senate.

The Whistleblower is protected from revealing his identity. And the Reps have labored long and hard to try and uncover who that person is. While it may not be illegal, it certain borders on it. Plus, the Whistleblower didn't have first hand knowledge. But he pointed out those that did. That means his testimony is irrelevant and the ONLY reason you and your band of criminals want to know who he/she is is to discourage others from coming forward. And one other reason. It gives you another "Hey, look over there" by a bunch of monkeys with keyboards.
