Here's a clue. NY 23, 2009...
Now do you remember him? He's the Democrat that won because the Tea Party, in their first foray into real elections, got behind one Doug Hoffman as a third party candidate and effectively split the GOP vote and gave the election to Owens.
Well, it's 2010, and Owens, amidst the Republican tsunami, manages to win again.
He beat Republican Matt Doheny, 48% to 46%.
But! you say, that only adds up to 94%! Where did the rest of the votes go?
Well, guess what?
Doug Hoffman ran on the Conservative line and polled 6%, thus, effectively, handing the election to Owens AGAIN.
