Notorious Solihull gangster J ohn “Goldfinger” Palmer may have been murdered over rumoured links to the Hatton Garden heist, a Crimewatch appeal is set to hear tonight.
The notorious criminal was shot by a hitman in the garden of his country mansion just two months after the £14million raid and a month after nine men were arrested.
Police said there were “significant arrests” of members of organised crime gangs last year that could provide a motive.
And investigators, who will appeal for information on tonight’s Crimewatch , are looking at the possibility fellow criminals suspected him of being a police informant.
