Rednecks................git er dun!

My Uncles were farmers in their younger days. Still live on their land, unless they are in nursing homes.
No amount of depression, recession, or inflation ever hurt them in any way.

They had their own water wells, as well as ponds stocked with fish.
Grew their own veggies.
Had chickens and cows. Probably still do.
Deer all over the place if they want one.
Have their own gas supply (natural gas).
Had 2000 gallon reserviors for automotive gas and another for diesel for the farm equipment.
Live out in the boonies, so nobody bothers them.
Have gravel driveways/roads from the main road, so they can hear anybody coming up to the house.
Houses hidden behind trees and shrubs, even though they are out in the boonies.

One of my Aunts canned, made homemade boozes, and had three huge freezers of stock food.
So anybod that needed food, they would help out. And to country people, FOOD is THE commodity.
You can trade for it, buy it, work for it, or sing for it if need be.

Of course theres the ole buckshot rifle ready to grab........just in case.
And if that don't work.........there's something more.........."permanent".
