It's funny how much liberals have attacked red areas for wanting drug screening for welfare recipients and now they are doing it themselves. It's possible that SF has already hit rock bottom and they are on their way back up. Fairly recently they have also booted out far left progressives on school boards, etc. But, it's a long way back up from the inner core of the planet.
