Spot On, Rand. McCain's a bitter old nutter.

Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) ripped fellow Republican Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) on Sunday after McCain criticized President Trump’s escalating war of words with the media.

He argued that the nation is “very lucky” that Trump is president and not McCain, who won the 2008 GOP nomination but lost to Barack Obama in the general election.

Paul said that McCain’s recent criticisms of Trump are driven by his “personal dispute”

“Everything that he says about the president is colored by his own personal dispute he’s got running with President Trump, and it should be taken with a grain of salt, because John McCain’s the guy who’s advocated for war everywhere,” Paul said on ABC’s “This Week.”...

Paul said that McCain’s recent criticisms of Trump are driven by his “personal dispute” with the president over foreign policy.

He added that McCain and Trump are at odds because McCain supports the wide deployment of U.S. troops to protect and promote American interests abroad while he characterized Trump’s views as closer to a realpolitik approach to foreign policy.

McCain has advocated for war everywhere. Rand Paul is the only one that takes these clowns to task.

Isn't this the guy the GOP was all in for in 2008?

Yep, and the one your side called "nuts", "lunatic", "warmonger", and I believe the word "traitor" was tossed in for good measure...but when he trashes Trump, he's the cat's pajamas. :eusa_snooty:

Rand Paul's comment shown light on the fact Trump gets ZERO moral support from Congress when he's attacked....it's bizarre that they finally have a president who can get a conservative agenda signed into law, yet they secretly are against it...they've been making money off these lousy trade deals.

.
Yup.

The Republicans nominating McCain was almost as stupid as the Democrats nominating Hillary.

Nope.

'Nope' to which part of stupid?

The stupid part of claiming Rand Paul was the guy the GOP was all in for in 2008. Although the republicans nominating McCain was pretty dumb but not as dumb as picking his running mate.

There has pretty much been no one on "either" side of the isle who has consistently objected to the irrational and preemtive use of the military as an instrument of empire.

Don, and moral support? Jesus.

Oh yeah, every time you see McCain, he's screeching about starting another war. I think he's insane.

I read Bodecea's post as referring to McCain.

McCain whipped everybody else in the primaries and Palin was a terrific choice for VP....the problem was McCain's advisors didn't use her properly and then undermined her and she went rogue.
