I have no problem with the suspension of D.J. Swearinger for his intentional helmet to helmet hit on the UAB player.
These high profile plays are getting great press, and the NCAA is making it appear as though they are concerned about the welfare of the athletes more than they are concerned abuot revenue.
But no one is addressing the head injuries for linemen. Sure that shot by the linebacker on the running back or receiver is vicious. But when you have a 300+ lb offensive lineman and a 300+ lb defensive lineman knocking head 75 times a game, the cheap shot looks like a cakewalk as far as damage done to the brain.
