They beat Florida St DECISIVELY.

But the voters - who were anti ND anyway - were determined to let GOOD OLD Bobby Bowden get his NC - they dumped ND to #4 in the pollsafter thelast- second loss to Bc (nice) So they coundnt even replay FSU

Agreed. Their one loss was by an FG to evenutal #9 BCU (a team that lost its 3 games by 8 pts and was also a NC caliber team). It was politics that gave Bowden his first NC. The a-hole even had the nerve to have his player wearing the NC hats after their bowl win and before the polls came out b/c he had already surveyed potential voters and he knew it was rigged in his favor.

ND rolled through most of their 1993 schedule with ease.


No nail-biters like in their 2012 4-0 start - or even back in 2002 - when they started 8-0.

Kevin McDougal in 1993 was the most efficient QB for a season in ND history - and they have had some good ones.

Fair is fair.

I didnt gripe when ND went 11-1 in 1989 - lost to Miami 27-10.

(althought the score is misleading - was a LOT closer game than that - ND was winning until the Canes converted on a 3 rd and 30 in the 3rd quarter)

So move on - head-to-head is what counts........................

So the rules changed for ND in 1993
