But Russia attacked a non-Nato country, that did not have a true professional army, and the best Russia could manage is a stalemate. Imo it's not a bad outcome for the US, which used Ukraine as a surrogate for killing Russians who chose to fight rather than emigrate. It's sucky for Ukraine though.

It's a real fear though as to who or what will replace Putin.
