Has Trump taken steps to lose his Russia support? Maybe.

However, the human cost is enormous, for a senile crook in charge of the most powerful military in the world to start a massive war in order to avoid impeachment. This could be a lot worse than the G.W. Bush Iraq/Afghanistan invasions.

This is exactly why having an "unpredictable" President is such a good thing. Now they will have to decide whether retaliation is worth all their oil fields going up in smoke. They had nothing to fear from Obama. And that is absolutely the worst position you can be in strategically.

The sanctions have already decimated their oil exports so bombing their oil fields won't do jack shit. If they attack us again it would make more sense to blow up all 9 of their oil refineries simultaneously.

And perhaps hit their underground uranium enrichment facilities with bunker busters. And take out their heavy water facility at Arak too.

The world is a better place now that he's gone. He will have to justify his life and he won't be able to lie or deceive. He will have to take proper responsibility for his life and it won't be pretty.

The problem is Iran. They will retaliate. They have said very loudly that they will. They will also make that general a martyr. Which isn't good for the world. The damage that will cause will last for generations. Which will make this world a lot less safe for everyone.

I was thinking as I read the following article, what is there to stop Iran from interfering with our coming election? What is there to stop them from going on a year long cyber campaign to prevent trump from being elected? What is there to stop them from hacking our election systems?

I know a bill was passed in the House to make our elections more safe from hacking but it went to the senate to die along with over 200 other needed pieces of legislation. I don't know if that legislation addresses a cyber campaign on line.

I don't want any foreign nation interfering with our elections to elect any candidate. Americans should be electing our government. Not a foreign nation.

russia has showen that it's possible to sway people on line through social media to get election results they want. There is nothing in place to stop Iran from doing the same thing.

Iran has already appointed the general's replacement. Killing them isn't going to stop someone else just taking their place.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. The exact same is true for every U.S. general who commanded troops or directed operations in that war torn region since at least 1953, with results - yes, "death and suffering" - so catastrophic as to be beyond imagination. Think about it this way...If we really want to teach someone a lesson, how effective of a lesson would it be to detonate nukes there, as the post-explosion fission products produced from the Pu-239/U-235 fission are highly toxic isotopes that are the same as any other fission source (see Chernobyl) and will render the area uninhabitable for years. Not to mention that the blast wave from a high-yield nuclear bomb will literally decimate everything in the blast radius like it was made of tissue paper.

In other words, who would ever believe us? Anyone who went there for more than a day would die and thus wouldn't be able to corroborate what they saw, and video footage would just be declared to be a "deep fake."

Wouldn't the more effective teaching tool be to lob a few low-yield pure-fusion neutron bombs over there, such that the area is left without residual toxic contaminants and physically un-altered (other than possible silhouettes of jihadists on any walls/structures next to which they may have been standing at the time)

I'd forgotten how Iran's Mullahs used child soldiers to clear mine fields, giving them plastic keys, made in China, that they assured them would allow them entry into paradise.
