Poll: 52% disapprove of the GOP tax plan — just 25% approve

Maybe it depends on who you ask. Politico ran a poll a week ago that says 45% support it, and 36% oppose it, with a lot of IDKs apparently. I really don't get it, this tax cut is about as good as it's going to get for the lower and middle income people. and I don't see the wealthy getting a break at all, unless they're small business owners and entrepeneurs that you want to encourage growth and investments from.

Poll: Support for GOP tax plan ticks down but remains positive

Since when does a democrat give a flying fuck about the debt/deficits?

Since we've been keeping track of them obviously.

And for the record - Obama reduced Junior Bush's 1.4 trillion dollar fiscal deficit by 60%.

Just wait until you get a load of Trump's numbers in 2020 (assuming he lasts that long ;-)

ROFLMAO! You're posting a graph from May 2011? From the Democratic Leader? Obama took a $10 Tril debt and turned it into $20 tril in approximate numbers over his presidency. Don't be giving me this % crap over Obama's 1st 2 years. Your party has NEVER given a tinker's damn about debt, to pretend otherwise is absolute BS.

I'll give you this however, many of the current batch of GOPers in Washngton these days don't seem to care about fiscal sanity either. But few people inside the beltway have the balls to cut spending, that's just the way it is.

For those who haven't noticed, EVERYTHING the Republicans do is immediately attacked from every conceivable angle.

On healthcare, any time a proposal was mentioned, the Press was beating the bushes for some unfortunate in a unique situation who would be harmed by it. Cue the violins. Same with the tax overhaul. Every media outlet is scouring the verbiage for some microscopic group of people who will be harmed, or who will lose a precious deduction, or who will move into another tax classification that might cost them money. "We'll lose our property tax deduction!!!!!" But no mention of the fact that the standard deduction will DOUBLE, thus lowering their taxes. "Charities will all go bankrupt because we will lose the charitable deduction!" Oh, really? B.S.

So with this full constant pressure to make the tax proposals look as bad as possible, ONLY 52% think they are bad?

That's pretty fukkin' good. Imagine how it would be without the negative propaganda.

Democrats think the taxpayers owe them everything. When 100% of them and their constituents are paying taxes we will talk.

61% are correct - 80% of the tax cuts will go to 2% of wage earners.

And of course another 1.5 trillion added to the deficit.

Since when does a democrat give a flying fuck about the debt/deficits?
Dems always pass the bills to pay for GOP/DOPer spendings or for sending their spending
3-5 years into the future as accounts due, then, based on LIES.
That's just that facts.

In a country of over 300 million people, polls should always be taken with a grain of salt.

More polls? We know how reliable polls have turned out to be.

Are you seriously saying that Americans don't want their taxes cut?

A lot of middle class Americans will see their taxes go up. The bill has built in tax increases as the standard deduction is not indexed to inflation the way they are now. The brackets are indexed to a chained CPI which means people will be pushed into higher tax brackets. Also people see a lot of good in the various tax breaks. The rich will all be winners and the pass through tax will be easy to game. Then you have the fact that people will lose coverage due to the fact that the mandate will go away. It will all go to tax cuts for the rich and businesses.

It took Reagan 2 years to get tax reform done and they want to do it in 2 months. People recognize this is ridiculous. Another hastily written bill that will affect this country in major ways.

Again the national pollsters got it right. They predicted Clinton would win the popular vote by a handful of points.
