I feel beaten down. Never in my life time have I seen the kind of things going on in Washington in terms of the politicians being bought and sold, politicians not paying any attention to the wants and desires of their voters back home, and such outright lies and half-truths. I've never seen the kind of spending that is taking place now - spending that the American people will never be able to repay. I think we are out of control and I'm just sitting back waitning for the crash to happen. I surrender. As a voter, I am beaten down and weary. I see no logic in anything coming out of DC. We are doomed. While our country goes down the tubes, the liberals dance in the street and blind to what is going on or just simply don't care. I'm waving the white flag. I quit.:eusa_eh:

I hear ya Black Dog, it's disheartening as hell.
Personally, I too think there is a serious "crash" ahead, and I would just as soon see the whole thing come crashing down, so we can get to the business of rebuilding this country.

It's going to take a lot of glue and nails to put this mess back together.:(

Ummmm....didn't your whole meandering opening post say you were quitting? Or are you simply pulling a Palin?:eusa_whistle:

I've felt this way for quite some time. You mention the liberals (not all of them are) dancing in the street, blind to what is going on and they are, but truthfully two years ago it was Republicans (note, I'm not including all conservatives in that) who were blind and dancing.

I too believe that a crash is on the way, but I'm not willing to lay all the blame at the feet of the liberals who just happen to be in control today, nor am I certain this crash will necessarily happen on their watch.

Regardless of when we fall, it will be the fault of both parties, not just one or the other.

Stop paying attention as much. It's not any more or less significant than the past you are just noticing it more. Every good thing that happens in the world happens in spite of politics not because of it.

I agree. Good insight to the problem.

I hear you, but if we quit then we will be beaten down. None of us can afford to waive a white flag. We need to work harder - vote the bastards out.

I think what blows me away is that Democrats are so blind to what really is going on, they seemingly have lost all ability of reason and common sense.

Lumpy, I wish I could agree, but, more and more I really feel it is on the liberal agenda, I mean the average liberal voter, to force our nation into a one world body position. To be part of a larger and worldwide encompassing socialist government.

Maybe some of them are simply blind to the reality of it, but, I think it is more ideology!

I truly believe that they despise the individual personal strength and freedom to personally achieve which this nation was built on.

We must keep in mind as well, the last time the republicans had some power, they blew it in many ways. Obviously not like this, but, nevertheless, we need to demand better across the board!

I'm just not capable of understanding their point of view on this..

I am not sure , I would call it weary. I think you are a realist, that no longer wishes to cast pearls before swine.

But, I will not give up.

You know, as much over the years as I had learned how big a bunch of crybabies the rightwingers are, I have to admit that I was still unprepared for their post-Democratic victory hysteria. It has really been, and continues to be, an astonishing spectacle.

So for the record, you believe that Obama's massive spending increase will NOT make Medicare and Social Security bankrupt in the near future as predicted?

What are the retirees supposed to do when the US can't make SS (in ~2030) & Medicare payments (in 2017)?

It's exhausting, that's true. Kind of like a 24/7 soap opera, where if you're not watching every minute, the corruptocrats in power slip some new grotesquerie past you.

Just now, while we were enjoying our Christmas with friends and family, they lifted the caps off Freddie and Fannie, effectively gifting them with a blank check on our taxpayer dollars , and Obama, by executive order, expanded diplomatic immunity to Interpol, putting it beyond the level of accountability our own law enforcement agencies must adhere to. :eusa_sick:

And you're right. They do these things whether we're watching or not. They are blatant in their disrespect. They believe they can buy us off before the next election by kicking back little chunks of our own money to us. They believe we'll forget what we saw, that they can sit back on their heels and claim it's just the way the sausage is made. They believe they can confuse us in a morass of semantics.
But most of all... they believe we are STUPID.

And that's what's gonna cost them in the end.

In places like internet message boards, we find ourselves surrounded by kooks and moonbats, people so dedicated to the cause of Socialism that one is forced to wonder whether they're simply too thick to understand common sense or if they're paid to be here. But when you think about the real people you know out in your daily life, you realize that Americans are essentially still good folks. They might be a bit politically lazy, but their hearts are in the right place and they would NEVER trade Freedom for Expediency if they fully understood the dynamics. It's all a matter of education and information sharing, only a matter of time before people understand what's really at stake. And when they do... they're gonna rise up at the polls and clean house.

The Socialists in power will pass their crazy legislation. We can't stop that. But what we can do is to challenge them in court and punish them at the polls. We can continue to educate our brethren as we go about our daily lives, and hopefully spend more time writing "letters to the editor" in our local paper and less time arguing with obvious trolls on the internet. We can continue to harangue our congresscritters with phone calls and mail, and we can get off our duffs to WORK for better candidates. There's alot we can do in the real world. And these endeavors don't weigh us down in pointless "exhaustion" because our efforts are constructive and thus more rewarding to the spirit.

So... take a break if you need one. Celebrate the New Year with family and friends, and then... get back in the game in order that the promise of a new decade should be fulfilled. Have faith in your fellow Americans. We may not be perfect, but we're still pretty damn good. :)
Remember that your favored candidates need not be perfect in every aspect, no one is. They just need to understand the true meaning of Liberty and be dedicated to the U.S. Constitution as written.

There are many ways that a people contribute to liberty. The first are fighters and champions of freedom. Later you need protectors of the rights established. Then follows those that attempt to expand freedoms and create a false utopia. Next, and I believe this is where we are, comes enslavement from these false freedoms and protections. It can be a cycle.

It is important to remember you can take my life from me, but my liberties cannot, without me giving them to you.

how truely blind the right is to the facts.

A few years ago, when Democratic staffers in the Senate were frantically poring over a massive Omnibus bill they had been handed the night before the scheduled vote, they discovered a tiny provision that had not been in any of the previous versions. The item would have given senators on the Appropriations Committee access to the private records of any taxpayer -- essentially endowing a few selected hacks in the Senate with the license to snoop into the private financial information of all Americans.

"We were like, 'What the hell is this?' ?says one Democratic aide familiar with the incident. "It was the most egregious thing imaginable. It was just lucky we caught them."
