I disagree with a lot here, but it does need to be said. Our tactics throughout the past 5 years have been largely a miserable failure, ranging from everything from failing to understand basic geography, culture and reality and spending millions to imprison a largely bunch of terrorists who should have been dead years ago.

Our tactics are a bit outdated, but that is because I think we're trying to accomplish a goal that won't work. We're trying to be nice to everyone and minimize civilian deaths. That just doesn't work in the modern world. On the other hand though there is a strategic point to our political correctness. If we don't try to minimize casualties and give up the fight for hearts and minds then the Iraqi citizens can turn against you, and terrorism and light hit and run tactics have been a pretty effective means of repelling an invader in modern warfare. We're not just trying to be political correct: we're trying to walk a fine line.
