Plumes of Gulf oil spreading east on sea floor - CNN.com
This could be trouble.
A month after the Deepwater Horizon disaster began, scientists from the University of South Florida made a startling announcement. They had found signs that the oil spewing from the well had formed a 6-mile-wide plume snaking along in the deepest recesses of the gulf.
The reaction that USF announcement received from the Coast Guard and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the federal agencies that sponsored their research: Shut up.

O damn looks like they knew where the oil was the entire time....now where are all those idiots who said the oil had 'disappeared'

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Georgia scientists say their analysis shows
that most of that BP oil the government said was gone from the Gulf of Mexico is still there.
The scientists say as much as 80 percent of the oil still lurks
under the surface. The Georgia team said it is a misinterpretation of data to claim that oil that is dissolved is actually gone. The report from University of Georgia and other scientists came from an analysis of federal estimates.
Earlier this month federal scientists said that only about a
quarter of the oil remained and the rest was either removed,
dissolved or dispersed.
But but but but but but Obama said he plugged the hole and it's safe to go to the beach?
"Researchers at the University of South Florida have concluded that oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill may have settled to the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico further east than previously suspected -- and at levels toxic to marine life. Initial findings from a new survey of the Gulf conclude that dispersants may have sent droplets of crude to the ocean floor, where it has turned up at the bottom of an undersea canyon within 40 miles of the Florida Panhandle"
When you actually bother to read the article there are more "mays" in it that at a calendar company
Moral of the story: don't swim on the sea bottom, it MAY not be good for you
But, but, but, the article isn't about the beach!
Right, and so much for the more dumb sea creatures who do, right? Out of sight...out of mind.
gawd your an idiot....what is on the sea bottom....plant life...sea life...the food chain...
continue to think the oil just went away...
you are the ass that needs to be smacked.
Still defending "DRILL BABY DRILL!"
I wish some of thesr right wingers would make up their mind.
I thought they said it was all cleaned up and Obama was making a mountain out of an oil hill?
