ME: In a recent post a forum member brought up something that liberals love to bring up: "........Hard to explain those 40 house seat gone in 2018....."

A little perspective, shall we?

During Obama’s two terms in office, Democrats experienced a net loss of 968 state legislative seats, the largest net loss of state legislative seats in this category since World War II. The second-largest loss occurred following Dwight D. Eisenhower’s two terms in office, when Republicans were handed a net loss of 843 state legislative seats.

Democratic U.S. Senate seats fell from 55 to 46. Their share of the House plummeted from 256 seats to 194. … Democratic governerships also became a rarity during this eight-year period, slipping from 28 to 16.

After the election of Obama, there was much talk of a new era – that a coalition of young, minority and female voters would usher in gains for the Democrats for decades. That did not happen

He lost the House, then lost the Senate, then because of his socialist extremism gave the White House to Trump.

Obama’s Democrat Party has been a loser for 8 years on a colossal scale.

Okay, we Republicans lost one. The extremism and the insanity of the current crop of Dems almost ensures we will make up for that..

Dems are on an historic downhill losing streak, and their socialism and hate and extremism are just speeding it up.

That was written over a year ago. Post something relevant for today.

Democrats in your face tactics woke us up. Now they're paying the price for it. They lost in 2016, and they will lose again in 2020.

This is a good article on our future.

White Man: Why Are You Giving Away Your Country? - American Renaissance

if it doesn't wake the rest of us up, I don't know what will.

<< Immigrants are pouring into the United States, not for the American dream, as many politicians, both Democrat and Republican, like to say. They are coming to exploit our economy, with no intention of embracing the culture, adopting the language, or considering themselves American. When asked, most will say they are proud Hondurans or proud Nigerians–proud nationals of the country they came from. >>

<< Unchecked immigration should by far be white America’s most urgent concern, but for white politicians, getting elected to another term is more important than securing a future for whites. Both liberal and “conservative” white politicians and pundits take a soft stance on immigration, careful not to offend anyone or to appear “racist.” >>

^ It is relevant you imbecile. It brings us right up to the most recent election. The whole point is to step back and look at the big picture, dumbfuck.
"Dems are on an historic downhill losing streak, and their socialism and hate and extremism are just speeding it up."

The Democratic Party is in charge of the House due to the 2018 mid-term election. Quit posting bullshit.
Talk about hate, re-read the crap you spew.

I agree mostly, but it should say, American Patriot: Why are you Giving Away your Country.

Its not about color. I would rather live in a nation of Herman Cains and Clarence Thomases than a nation of Joe Biden's and Nancy Pelosis, right?

The reason for that was gerrymandering. We saw what happened in Pennsylvania when a fair map was forced onto the Congressional delegation. It went from 13-5 Republican to a 9-9 tie.

However Trump is destroying the Republican Party. Trump has torn apart the Republican coalition that Ronald Reagan put together. A coalition of rural and suburban voters. Suburban voters are deserting the GOP. That is why Texas, Arizona and Georgia are in play for 2020.

Gwinnet County Ga
2014 Governor Deal(R) +12 statewide winner R +7.8
2016 President Clinton(D) +6 statewide winner R +5.16
2018 Governor Abrams(D) +14 statewide winner R +1.39

Since then Republicans have inflamed suburban voters especially women passing a extreme anti-abortion bill. DAs in suburban counties have said they will not prosecute anyone under this law.

"Gwinnett County DA Danny Porter wrote in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "As a matter of law (as opposed to politics), this office will not be prosecuting any women under the new law as long as I’m district attorney,”

DeKalb County DA Sherry Boston told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she will not prosecute people “given its ambiguity and constitutional concerns.” She further stated: “As a woman and mother, I am concerned about the passage and attempted passage of laws such as this one in Georgia, Alabama, and other states."

Fulton County DA Paul Howard said he “has no intention of ever prosecuting a woman under this new law" and he further added that no medical professionals would face prosecution either. His county includes the highly populous city of Atlanta, so this is pretty remarkable.

The DA from Henry County, Darius Pattillo, called the bill “unconstitutional" and referenced it being in "direct conflict" with Roe v. Wade. He stated: “This office will not prosecute any woman for decisions regarding her own personal health, nor any physician or other healthcare professional, under HB 481.”

Tarrant County Texas
2012 Senate Cruz(R) +16 statewide winner R +16
2016 President Trump(R) +8 statewide winner R+9.05
2018 Senate O'Rourke(D) +1 statewide winner R+3

In 2016 Clinton picked up around 570,000 more votes in Texas while Trump only picked up 80,000 votes over what Romney received in 2012. Clinton also won in 3 suburban Republican congressmen's districts for the first time.

In 2014, Abbott beat a Democrat who was considered a top drawer challenger who was the beneficiary of a major effort by Democrats. She lost by 20 points. In 2018, Abbott did not face a top drawer challenger nor did Democrats put extra resources into the race and Abbott won by 13. Democrats picked up 12 seats in the Texas state House to put them within 9 seats of a majority.

How worried about 2020 are Republicans? They shelved a restrictive anti-abortion law. The House Speaker as been mired in a major scandal.

In suburban South, Democrats break into Republican strongholds

In 2018 Democrats also picked up suburban seats in red states such as SC, Oklahoma and Utah.

In 2016, Trump won the Pennsylvania suburbs by a 52-44 margin. In 2018, the suburbs went 54-45 Democrat.

In 2020, suburban voters will decide the election.

Dems just took a heavily Gerrymandered House in the last election, with 9 million more votes than Republicans

Doesn’t look well for 2020

Dem platform for 2020

Republicans are taking away your healthcare
Republicans will ban abortion
Republicans are destroying our environment
Trump is an asshole

Republicans are destroying our environment
Trump is an asshole

You accidentally told the truth. That IS their platform, it is all lies, and that is why they will lose, and you are too dumb to even realize it.

Its funny, the New York Times is running a piece on dealing a death blow to the GOP. Looking at this factual history though, if Trump is reelected, and especially if we win the House, it is the Dems that could receive a near death blow
