The threat of cyber attacks doesn't really change much. The enemy is always at the door in this age of connectivity. What they want, when they'll knock...are things unknown.

So how are the Iranians and North Koreans going to get weapons which they do not have, onto a suborbital ICBM, which they also do not have, to conduct an attack that would result in their being wiped off the face of the earth within 30 minutes?

Not especially worried about it happening because of the above and also our space missile defense system, however, it's about damn time the US started thinking about and protecting that shit. It's not just an attack that could fry the grids, space events could as well. There's really no good reason for us /not/ to defend, especially since as I understand it we need aluminum cases and a line surge trip - expensive maybe, but not that difficult to do.
