This going to make it hard for Trump to win PA.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the Green Party cannot appear on the state’s ballots this cycle, handing Democrats a win as they try to consolidate support in the key swing state.
The court ruled in a 5-2 decision that the Green Party did not follow proper procedure for getting on the ballot, overturning a Republican judge’s decision in a lower court ruling.
The Green Party earlier this year swapped out Elizabeth Faye Scroggin for Howie Hawkins as its presidential candidate. But the high court ruled that it failed to properly get Scroggin on the ballot, so “subsequent efforts to substitute Hawkins were a nullity.” It ruled a similar substitution effort to get Angela Walker on the ballot as the party’s vice presidential nominee was invalid.
“In sum, the Commonwealth Court erred in dismissing Objectors’ petition to set aside Scroggin’s nomination, and Hawkins’ substitution, as the Green Party’s candidate for President of the United States,” the court ruled, citing irregularities in the way the Green Party was supposed to file affidavits for the presidential candidate.
“That defect was fatal to Scroggin’s nomination and, therefore, to Hawkins’ substitution. Accordingly, the Secretary of the Commonwealth is directed to remove Howie Hawkins and Angela Walker from the general election ballot as the Green Party’s nominees for President and Vice President.”
The court’s two Republican justices agreed the petitions for Hawkins and Walker were not filed properly but that the Green Party could try to fix the errors retroactively.
The ruling marks a victory for former Vice President Joe Biden and Democrats who feared that third-party contenders could win over some liberal voters in tight battles up and down the ballot that are anticipated to be decided by thin margins.
The Keystone State is anticipated to be particularly competitive in the White House race between Biden and President Trump. Trump won the state in 2016 by just over 44,000 votes, when Green Party candidate Jill Stein took nearly 50,000 votes.
Biden’s campaign has focused heavily on winning Pennsylvania, touting the former vice president’s Scranton roots. The RealClearPolitics polling average shows him with a 4.3 percent lead over Trump in the state.

I'm not sure how many votes would have gone to the Green Party anyway, but it does say they can still file to get back on the ballot retroactively, right?

Here's the thing. Does Pennsylvania like Hiden Biden more than they like big fat gas and oil royalties, bonus checks and tax revenues? It's the old, "money talks and bullshit walks scenario"...

Not so sure that assigning Green Party votes to the democrats as a default is necessarily what will happen.

When I was still voting, if there wasn't an LP candidate in any particular race, I would abstain from that part of the ballot or just stay home.

Probably going to be a lot of that going on with the Greenies.

I'm not sure how it will play out. I really have no idea how Green Party voters will vote if they can't vote for their candidate. They are leftists, so I can imagine a lot of them will vote for Biden. Not voting is probably the best trump can hope for.

Rigged primaries in 2020.
Rigged election in 2016.
Rigged election in 2020.

Let's see if Biden can do in 2020 what Hillary could not do in 2016 - win a rigged election.

Clinton was better placed in Pennsylvania, Michigan polls than Biden is

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's predecessor Hillary Clinton was better placed than him in polls for Pennsylvania and Michigan—two states she narrowly lost to President Donald Trump in 2016—at the same point in her campaign
While Clinton won the popular vote, she lost in the Electoral College with narrow defeats in states which had previously voted Democrat contributing to this defeat.
In Michigan, she lost by little more than 10,000 votes, around 0.3 percent of those cast, while in Pennsylvania, Trump secured around 44,000 more votes than her, around 0.7 percent of the state's total ballots, according to New York Times' tracking of election data

I doubt PA is going to turn blue for Biden; although some blue states may most definitely turn red after all the riot crap perpetrated by left wing Dems with left wing Dem News egging them on.

The Green party received 0.8% of the vote in 2016 - 49,941 votes. Trump won the state by 0.7% of the vote. - 44,292 votes

You're making the assumption that almost all of those Green Party voters would have voted for Hillary in the absence of the Green Party option. Considering that these people voted third party in a swing state, and thus were obviously so disillusioned with both duopoly candidates that they rejected the duopoly and voted on principle, it's far more likely that those voters would have simply abstained from voting if there wasn't a third party candidate who appealed to their principles.

This third party "spoiler" topic has come up many times over the years in close elections, where the third party vote percentage exceeds the margin of victory between the Dem/Repub candidates. But those retrospect arguments are far too simplistic, as there's no evidence suggesting what percentage of those voters would have voted for one of the two-party candidates even if the third-party candidate wasn't on the ballot, or a breakdown of which candidate the voters who would have done so would have selected. It's a great talking point to rally votes and for retrospective moral victories, but it's not much deeper than that.

Following up on my above post, given the familiarity voters now have with both Trump and Biden, and the fact that this is shaping up to be a tight election in swing States including PA, it goes without saying that any person who would be voting third party under the circumstances clearly does not view Biden or Trump as a viable option. Accordingly, I do not see this as an issue that will have any impact one way or the other.
