Zone1 Pastor alarmed after Trump-loving congregants deride Jesus' teachings as 'weak'

Jesus’ ideology, like so many other liberal and progressive ideologies , works beautifully in a vacuum. Unfortunately, once you add human nature and fallibility and weakness to the equation, they’re a recipe for disaster.
For any ideology it is vital to keep in mind they contain people of all ages, in all stages of growth and learning, all experimenting and often failing before they succeed and move on. It could be compared to a classroom that ranges from pre-school to post graduate work. Taken as a whole, one might see chaos, so it is vital to view each person, not as part of a group, but as an individual on a journey.

Is the Sermon on the Mount to liberal now? What do Evangelicals think of Jesus's greatest teaching?

Pastor alarmed after Trump-loving congregants deride Jesus' teachings as 'weak'' teachings as 'weak'

Evangelical Christian leader Russell Moore revealed this week that many evangelical pastors have become alarmed that their Trump-loving congregants have become so militant that they are even rejecting the teachings of Jesus Christ.

In an interview with NPR, Moore said that multiple pastors had told him disturbing stories about their congregants being upset when they read from the famous "Sermon on the Mount" in which Christ espoused the principles of forgiveness and mercy as central to Christian doctrine.

"Multiple pastors tell me, essentially, the same story about quoting the Sermon on the Mount, parenthetically, in their preaching — 'turn the other cheek' — [and] to have someone come up after to say, 'Where did you get those liberal talking points?'" Moore revealed. "And what was alarming to me is that in most of these scenarios, when the pastor would say, 'I'm literally quoting Jesus Christ,' the response would not be, 'I apologize.' The response would be, 'Yes, but that doesn't work anymore. That's weak.'"
Neither party is Christ like and to believe either is or should follow Christ is silly. God would never have anything to do with Democrats or Republicans, Biden or Trump followers, or Biden or Trump themselves, God doesn’t stoop that low.

Do YOU think the Sermon on the Mount was Jesus's greatest teaching? If so, why?

Or are you just trolling on Sunday?

As a Conservative Authoritarian I disagree. Knowledge should be handed down from the elder to the younger and simply accepted. If you choose not to accept, you leave the Society, permanently.

Translation:
“I really miss those traditional hardcore Bible thumping ‘Conservatives’….the ones who didn’t conserve, preserve or protect anything, the ones with no ball-sack, the one’s that would polish the AR-15’s they’d never have the nuts to use, the foolish suckers we could easily bully, easily steer their way of thinking by throwing a Bible verse in their face…we could get those passive dumbass pussies to accept anything with a simple guilt trip. The nutless bastards finally grew a pair of balls and now they won’t ignore us disgusting globalist degenerates as we run amok, trashing and transforming their nation into the no borders, no boundaries anything goes socialist foreign shithole we seek.”
'turn the other cheek'

This is actually a sign of strength and the courage to commit to Christian dogma.

That conservatives see it as ‘weak’ illustrates their propensity for violence as a means of conflict resolution and their lack of understanding of Christian dogma.

Folks pay attention…this is how Twilight Zone Libs have become… Unkotare calls fake news on my post….The truth hurts his feelings so he wants to believe I made-up and wrote Genesis 19.

It's sad that no one cares enough about you to explain your idiotic mistake, loser.

You're very ignorant. You don't even know the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Too bad you'll never learn.

Yer translator is busted.

There is lots of scripture to prove that Jesus was quite cynical, quite cruel at times when he needed to be… For some reason you fragile beggars always seem to look past all those teachings.
Yeah? Quote some for us.

I will admit i like the golden rule for its simplicity, but the Sermon is a core of his Way.
