Palin's Alaska

Just curious if anyone else is locked-in to watching Palin's Alaska series. Not sure if this would help or hurt her chances to run for 2012.

I've been to Alaska 5 times....a wonderful place where reality looks just like the postcards from there. Didn't watch it, but I pretty much know about it.

Its starting on TLC now. The previews looked cool, if you like that kind of show. I'm more interested in AK than the Palins...just sayin...

Ohh I love the nature shows on Alaska.
Just no so called reality shows.

I would have to turn the sound down as her voice grates on my pore old ears.

I dunno about that many states have vast amounts of beauty.
Beauty is also different things to different people.
The desert has a very nice quiet beauty.
The mountains are magnicificant.
The blue ridge mountans are wonderful.
The rocky coasts of Maine.
The forests of the NW.
etc....

Texas and Kansas though....

Didn't she hunt from airplanes or helicopters?

To me that sucks. You only hunt humans from airplanes and helicopters. It is the american way of things.

If you watched the show, the Palins were fishing & the bears showed up.
Those bears were worth seeing, you don't see brown bears up close every day..
I like the 14' high fence they put up to block their leftist neighbor's view...

Who is the editor on this show? At the start they take off in a piston engined float plane, then they land in a turbo prop powered plane. Kris Angel would be impressed!

It was a all day deal and the pilot returned to pick them up in another plane.

I can't STAND reality tv shows...of any stripe.

Give me my documentaries, give me my punditry, give me my situational comedies, give me my drama shows...but this REALITY tv show crap is the WORST thing in society.

Meh, it looked like a commercial for Alaska Travel. Mrs. Scientist liked it.

What I've found is that you always have to go back one more time.

The show was a very fast hour. Don't think I'd want to do the glacier walking or rock climbing, but the vastness and beauty of the place was impressive. The price of gas must really bite their budgets up there, traveling so far to get around.
I'll watch the rest of the series if the next shows are as good.

You haven't been to AK then.

In a class by itself. Nothing comparable in the lower 48, tho Hawaii may have a challenge.

The scope of AK is off the scale. It can't be realized via TV.
