I think it's even more interesting to observe all the many different explanations that are given to obvious hogwash coming from the mind of an Islamic lunatic. What exactly does Hebrew have to do with the claim of Columbus speaking Arabic with native Americans? Are we now actually entertaining this notion? The two languages have absolutely nothing, zero zip nada to do with one another. There would be absolutely no way an Arab would be able to make out what something said in Hebrew means, and vice versa. Arabic would be more similar to Greek than Hebrew but I bet you not one Greek would be able to understand Arabic or Hebrew without prior education. The fact is, Columbus believed he was sailing to the East Indies, and that since Hebrew traders had been there, he took Jews fluent in Hebrew along for the trip to foster communications. Thats the extent of it, and of course people serving their own interests distort that for the historical record.
Hebrew was the Linqua Franca of the world prior to Napoleon and after the Fall of Rome, and it's what gave the Jews such success in banking and trade. They had connections everywhere, and with whom they could carry on communications.
I think it's interesting that the guy in the video is Lebanese, who are the present day descenants of the Phoenicians. the ancient Jews were collaborators with the Phoenicians in their trading enterprises. But the reason for the far scattering of the Jews as traders came later along with the several dispersals inposed upon them many times down through the centuries.
