Even when I have disagreed with Macron, I have always respected Frances general belief in individual freedom. They helped America become what it was in your infancy, even sending you the Statue of Liberty (what an amazing structure really).

This opinion, is taken from various politicians in France and Macron himself is warning about importing American "social science theories".

'Out-of-control leftism' in US is a threat to FRANCE, politicians say

Politicians, prominent intellectuals, and academics in France have voiced concern that 'out-of-control leftism and cancel culture' from the United States is threatening French identity.

They are arguing that American ideas on race, gender, post-colonialism – especially those coming from U.S. universities – are undermining French society and are an attack on French heritage.

The collection of intellectuals arguing that France is being contaminated by the leftism of America was buoyed on last year after French President Emmanuel Macron appeared to side with them.

In a speech in October on the 'Fight against Separatism', Macron warned against leaving 'the intellectual debate to others' as he cautioned of the 'certain social science theories entirely imported from the United States'.

His education minister Jean-Michel Blanquer also warned in October that there is a 'battle to wage against an intellectual matrix from American universities'.

Pretty bad when FRANCE is saying another country is full of pussies

Hey, do you remember when Americans were able to call those potato things French Fries again??

France was never a real ally. Realpolitik had France supporting some of what we did during the Revolutionary War but mostly to fck with the British and to maintain French controlled territories in the new world. Americans were too insignificant to be considered an ally. LaFayette and a relative handful of French came over to live an adventure but were at best a token force.

Bartholdi had originally tried to sell a variation of the Statue of Liberty to sit at the mouth of the Suez but his buyer was broke. He didn't give up and after a few quick sketches came up with Lady Liberty which after a lot of BS it got dumped on our shores, less of a sign that the French loved us but more of a tribute to Bartholdi's salesmanship.

"Berenson says. But when the ruler of Egypt, Khedewi Ismail Pasha, went bankrupt, the colossal Suez sculpture project was jettisoned. But the artist soon found a way to recycle his design."

The situation in France is solely due to their poor decision-making, but they ohh so love to blame their problems on the U.S..

France has a history of trying to blame its problems on the U.S.. You really should read what Jean-Luc Melenchon has to say as he is a popular French politician who has received close to 15% of the national vote. I should mention that he is a leftist that makes our group of socialists look like amateurs. The French had out-of-control leftism long before us and they have nothing to learn from us.

Nonsense.

Here’s the truth:

“…according to the New York Times, Marcron is also courting the right ahead of the election next year, which led him to eventually comment last year after center-right lawmakers pressed for a parliamentary investigation into 'ideological excesses' at universities.” ibid

Marcron is trying to appease the right by advancing the lie about ‘cancel culture.’

Quite right Decus they are friends with the Germans and they are not very grateful to the Americans after all the sacrifices they have given. The French are like that.

Leftism has already murdered France, you can't resurrect a corpse. The future of this former great country ( like everywhere in Europa ) is a poor caliphate without industry and culture filled to 90% by illiterate African migrants.

My problem is largely with the politicians. So many French dreamed of moving to the US and many did recognize the positive nature of the US. I was a kid when this was popular in France:
